"Then wake up a little earlier next time."
She had originally planned to buy breakfast on her way to the hospital. Getting up at this hour didn't interfere with her work schedule at all.
Who would have thought the old lady would actually send Mrs. Miller over, making it sound as if she couldn't get out of bed in the morning.
Hannah Hale said nothing. She lowered her head, took a few sips of congee, and got ready to leave.
"Wait."
Hannah Hale stopped and turned to look at Nathan Redgrave. "Do you need something?"
Nathan Redgrave stood up, went to the kitchen, and came back with a plastic bag. He placed a few small steamed buns inside. "Skipping breakfast is bad for you. Mrs. Miller made these herself. They're delicious."
Hannah Hale looked at him, a little surprised. 'Today's Nathan Redgrave seems a bit different than usual.'
'Since when did he care whether she ate breakfast or not?'
