Aiden Shaw fastened the last button on Laura Lowell's coat before slowly looking up. "Some connections are simply destined by fate. In this life, she's the only one I'll ever cherish."
"Just pretend I didn't say anything. God, why do I do this to myself? I'm just asking for pain at this point."
Keith Chambers shoved his hands in his pockets and strode out of the elevator. With a look of utter despair, he got into his car.
Outside the restaurant, Aiden Shaw took off his scarf and gently wrapped it around Laura Lowell. "Try not to drink tonight. We're trying for a baby, and it wouldn't be good for the child if you were pregnant."
"I know. Don't worry."
Aiden Shaw gazed at Laura Lowell, his eyes sparkling like a galaxy of stars. "Go on, then. Drive safe."
Laura Lowell waved to Aiden Shaw before getting in her car and driving away.
