Hannah Hale popped a piece of meat into her mouth. The rising steam misted her fair, delicate face. "Don't worry," she said. "I'm not made of glass. I'm not that fragile."
"That's not okay. You can't keep this up, or you'll run yourself into the ground. Starting tomorrow, I'll have my assistant bring you lunch every day."
"No, don't. That's too much trouble. Besides, your assistant isn't an errand boy. Don't create work for him just for the sake of it."
Hannah Hale swallowed the meat and picked up the fruit juice to her right, taking a few sips. "Wow, that's spicy."
"Stop eating the spicy food. You already skipped lunch. If you eat something this spicy on an empty stomach, you'll have a stomachache tonight."
Morgan Joyce picked some beef and vegetables from the mild broth and placed them on Hannah Hale's plate. He hadn't taken a single bite himself yet, entirely focused on serving her.
"Okay, I get it."
