Blood trickled nonstop from the corners of Victoria Ward's mouth. There wasn't a single spot on her body that didn't ache.
Keith Chambers had been interrogating her for a full hour. He was tired from all the hitting, but the woman stubbornly refused to admit Yvonne Sloan was behind it.
"What's your relationship with that Yvonne Sloan? Why are you willing to die for her?"
Usually, people who took money to solve problems for others, especially amateurs like her, would confess everything after a simple beating.
But this stout, middle-aged woman was dead set on distancing herself from Yvonne Sloan, insisting she did everything herself and that it had nothing to do with anyone else.
This couldn't help but make Keith Chambers suspicious of the relationship between the two women.
"Please, just let me go. I don't know that Yvonne Sloan. We're complete strangers! Please, I know I was wrong."
