Halfway through his sentence, the police officer realized his mistake and abruptly fell silent.
Aiden Shaw nodded at them. "Send my regards to the chief. If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving now."
"Don't you worry, Dr. Shaw. We'll be sure to pass along the message."
Aiden Shaw glanced at Keith Chambers, signaling for him to take Yvonne Sloan away as well.
"Let go of me! Officers, this is kidnapping! Arrest them, quick! Help me!"
Yvonne Sloan shrieked hysterically, trying to break free from Keith Chambers's grip, but it was completely useless.
The police officers standing to the side, of course, pretended not to see a thing.
"Officers, please, help me! This is illegal kidnapping! I'm going to sue them..."
"Help me! They're killing me!"
Yvonne Sloan screamed incoherently, her mind a chaotic mess. She knew that even if she screamed until her throat was raw, no one would step up to help her today.
'Since I'm dead either way, I might as well go all out.'
