At the sound of the voice, Fiona Keating turned, giving a delicate, weak nod. "It did hurt a little just now, but it's much better. Thank you for your concern, Dr. Hale."
"No need to thank me. I'm a doctor. This is my job."
Hannah Hale slid her hands into the pockets of her white lab coat. As she looked at Fiona Keating, her eyes betrayed a barely perceptible annoyance.
Fiona Keating pressed her lips into a smile and walked over to Hannah Hale. "Dr. Hale, this is all just nonsense. There's really nothing between Nathan and me. You mustn't misunderstand."
'Hah. So she was afraid I wouldn't see it and called me over just to shove it in my face.'
Hannah Hale glanced at the photo on the phone, her lips curling into a cold smile. "To be honest, I'm not the least bit interested in what goes on between you two."
