Morgan Joyce glanced at Hannah Hale and shook his head with a silent laugh. "Not a great idea. Our housekeeper is very expensive, and I just gave him a raise. He's not about to leave."
Just as they were talking, Dr. Lorell from pediatrics walked over with her tray. "Dr. Ward, may I sit next to you?"
"Of course."
Dr. Lorell sat down with a smile, her gaze repeatedly and inadvertently drifting to Morgan Joyce. "Dr. Hale, is this your friend?"
"Yes, he's a good friend of mine, Morgan Joyce."
Hannah Hale swallowed the food in her mouth before making the introduction for Dr. Lorell.
"Hello, Mr. Joyce. My name is Hailey Lorell. This might be a bit forward, but... do you have a girlfriend?"
Asking such a blunt question right after meeting, especially for a woman, was certainly bold of her.
Morgan Joyce was momentarily taken aback by her question. Before he could speak, Dr. Ward, who was sitting nearby, started frantically signaling Dr. Lorell with his eyes and coughing loudly.
