Nathan Redgrave glanced at the red mark on her neck, making sure it was completely covered with ointment, before speaking unhurriedly. "The reason I asked you to be her attending physician is because that other doctor from your hospital told me you had a boyfriend."
Hannah Hale looked at him noncommittally. "Is that the only reason?"
"Of course."
Nathan Redgrave smiled and brushed the tip of Hannah Hale's nose, then placed the tube of ointment back in the first-aid kit. "I was too angry at the time, so I wasn't thinking straight. I'm sorry."
"To be honest... I was about to give up on you. Every time I saw you caring for Fiona Keating, feeding her, and speaking so gently to her... even though I'd say it didn't matter or that it was none of my business, I was actually heartbroken inside."
Hannah Hale couldn't even remember how long she had been in love with this man.
So long that she had been on the verge of giving up.
