"There's no need for that. Dad, you can just call me Nathan."
"Alright, alright. Nathan."
Hannah's mother led Morgan Joyce to the sofa and gently touched his forehead. "Good, your fever's gone down. I just made some of that stomach-soothing congee you like. Make sure you eat a big bowl later, or you won't have any energy."
"Thank you. I'm just sorry that it's been so hard on her. She didn't get to sleep until after one in the morning taking care of me."
Morgan Joyce glanced at Hannah, his heart aching as he noticed the dark circles that had formed under her eyes.
"Well, at least you have a conscience. Just remember you owe me a meal. You two chat for a bit. I'm going upstairs to wash up and change."
Hannah took off her coat, draped it over the back of the sofa, and went upstairs.
Hannah's father took a sip of tea and said with a chuckle, "Nathan, Claire and Morgan Joyce have been good friends since they were kids, so don't get the wrong idea."
