"Honey, I bought you some soup dumplings. Eat them while they're hot."
Aiden Shaw settled into the driver's seat, calmly placing the breakfast bag in Laura Lowell's hands. "Don't worry, Keith Chambers brought people with him. He can handle it."
"Are those people outside... sent by the Peyton Family?"
"Yeah. They probably haven't given up yet, but I've already arranged for people to protect you. You don't have to worry."
Laura Lowell glanced outside. 'I should have known. How could someone so patriarchal, who only has eyes for their grandson, possibly give up and leave so easily?'
"Hold on, we're leaving."
Aiden Shaw leaned over to fasten his seatbelt, then turned the steering wheel and pulled onto the main road.
Laura Lowell took a soup dumpling from the bag and took a bite, looking at Aiden Shaw with some concern. "Can Keith Chambers really handle it? Should we go back and help?"
