Nathaniel Nathan noticed her expression and frowned slightly. Master Nathan had been hospitalized today, and even though they'd hired a caregiver, he couldn't help but worry and needed to stay at the hospital. Therefore, his use of the word "sleep" was meant as a noun, not a verb.
He gave her a meaningful look as he left, but said nothing more, simply turning and heading for the hospital.
Vera finally felt herself relax a little once he was gone.
He was clearly a neat freak; his room looked incredibly clean and tidy, and the bathroom was spotless. The space was filled with the signs of his life, making her feel both like an outsider and intensely curious.
