A red mark appeared on Rona Langdon's face from the chopsticks. Her eyes filled with indignation. If Zachary Preston didn't hold such an unshakeable place in her heart, she might have exploded right then and there.
She grew furious. "Do you have any idea how black-hearted and vicious Vera Xavier is? If you keep protecting her like this, she'll be the death of you one day!"
Zachary Preston grew furious as well. "I just don't understand. Vera is our daughter, so why would you say such things about her? Even if she didn't grow up with us, she is still our daughter! Before she came home, I asked the relatives and neighbors from the Xavier Family's side. Every single one of them said she was sweet, clever, and sensible!"
