"Let her reflect on what she's done!" Zachary Preston said coldly. "She's turned the house upside down recently. We can't let her keep acting so recklessly."
After he finished, he looked at Vera Xavier and said, "Vera, your mother isn't a bad person at heart. If she admits she was wrong, try not to hold it against her."
Vera Xavier nodded and said, "Okay, I'll listen to you, Dad."
Zachary Preston had said things like this several times before. Every time Vera Xavier heard it, she sighed inwardly. 'Rona Langdon will never leave me alone.'
Zachary Preston let out a long sigh and picked up a new pair of chopsticks, but the food had lost its flavor.
Vera Xavier twirled her chopsticks. 'I have a plan,' she thought. 'Slowly wearing down Zachary Preston's patience with Rona Langdon and making him see her true, materialistic nature is probably the best approach for now.'
