Master Nathan had rushed over today after receiving a call from Vera Xavier. Principal Gage was already in the office by then. It was less than a two-minute walk from the office to the school gate, yet the two hadn't shown up at the same time. Master Nathan knew exactly what that implied.
The Kane family was famously wealthy in Crestfall, and they had donated many of the high school's facilities. Therefore, even if Principal Gage had wanted to defend Vera Xavier, he wouldn't have dared to offend the Kanes. The best strategy was to stay on the sidelines and watch the drama unfold.
But given who Master Nathan was, how could he possibly fail to see through the principal's intentions?
Principal Gage sighed. "It's not easy being a principal these days. I have to worry about college admission rates, counsel the students, and manage so many other internal and external affairs. I truly mishandled this situation. You're right to criticize me, Master Nathan."
