Leo Wright was a smart man and immediately realized who Susan Caldwell was referring to. He unconsciously clenched his fists, then turned away to hide his complex emotions.
Susan Caldwell chuckled again. "I always thought it was strange—where did Vera Xavier get the nerve to speak to me like that? Now I know. It turns out she has Nathaniel Nathan backing her. What do you think would happen if she lost him, and I became the one with Nathaniel?"
Leo Wright's fists clenched tighter. Forcibly suppressing his emotions, he said, "Then she'd have no one to rely on. She'd have nothing."
Susan Caldwell giggled. "Exactly. Just thinking about that outcome puts me in an exceptionally good mood."
'The identity she held originally belonged to Vera Xavier, and she would absolutely never allow Vera to return to the Caldwell Family. If she could steal Vera's status as the eldest daughter of the Caldwell family back then, she could just as easily steal her man!'
