Brian Dixon smiled and said, "Shawcross, isn't that a bit ungentlemanly of you?"
"What good is being a gentleman? It won't help me win." Isaac Shawcrosscross shot Vera Xavier a sidelong glance. "This young lady stood here and distracted me for two whole games, making me lose to you. She's the one with no class, so why should I show her any?"
Vera Xavier chuckled softly at his words. 'This teacher of mine... he has the exact same personality. It feels so familiar, so reassuring.'
Isaac Shawcrosscross looked at her and said, "What's so funny? Isn't what I said the truth?"
Vera had only laughed because she was marveling at how he was exactly the same as in her past life; there was no other meaning behind it.
So she nodded immediately. "You're right, sir. For someone as classless as me, you certainly don't need to show any class! You take the black pieces, sir!"
Then she added, "But I have a feeling... that even if you take the black pieces, sir, you'll still lose this game to me."
