Seth Maverick reached out and patted his shoulder. "I'm happy to see your desire to win," he said, "but I feel your branch is still a little behind Nathaniel Nathan's. I'm doing this to give you an excuse. That way, even if you lose, you'll have a reason, and it won't be so humiliating."
Sheldon Caldwell felt like crying. 'Should I thank Seth Maverick or be angry? Hasn't my branch always performed exceptionally well?'
