Shirley Ewing burst out laughing. "Right now, you're the only one, so you have this problem. If everyone in our dorm got perfect scores on everything, we could take three-quarters of the attention off you!"
"That actually sounds pretty reasonable!" Vera said with a smile. "Then let's give it a try next time!"
Fiona chimed in with a laugh, "You said it, so no take-backs!"
Vera smiled and agreed. Anyone who made it into Veridia University was the cream of the crop, and each of them had her own pride. The talk about cheating was just a joke; with their pride on the line, they would never actually do something like that.
As they were talking, the door was pushed open, and a tall girl walked in carrying a pile of clothes.
