Jasmine reluctantly let go of Mika. Her eyes scanned the house, and she couldn't help but exclaim, "Mika, this villa is huge, and the decor is so beautiful."
"Mm." Mika glanced around casually. 'It is pretty big,' she thought, 'but it doesn't give me the same peace of mind as my old place.'
That house hadn't been large, but she had felt safe there. It had felt like home. This place, on the other hand, was just big. It felt empty and desolate. She gave a self-deprecating laugh at the thought and dragged her suitcase upstairs to find a room.
Unlike Jasmine, she was in no mood to admire the decor. To her, as long as she had a place to stay, a roof over her head, it was enough. She didn't really care about anything else.
