"Really!?" Shirley Lockwood asked, clutching Archie Lockwood's arm excitedly as she looked up at him.
Archie Lockwood nodded firmly. "Yes, really."
"Dad!! I knew you loved me most!"
Archie Lockwood smiled, raising a hand to ruffle her little head. "Alright now, be a good girl and go to bed."
"Okay-dokey! Good night then, Dad!" 'Since Dad already promised not to marry a stepmom, I can sleep in peace now.'
Her father had always been a man of his word, so if he said he wouldn't remarry, he definitely wouldn't.
"Good night." Archie Lockwood gave her a doting smile.
After soothing Rory, Archie Lockwood took the ointment and returned to his room.
He closed the door and walked to the bedside. As he looked at the woman sleeping soundly on the bed, his brow furrowed slightly.
'The woman he'd refused to marry no matter how much pressure he was under... now he actually wanted to marry her...'
'Heh, he really was becoming strange...'
