On the receiving end of Archie Lockwood's harsh glare, Eleanor Bishop blinked innocently, completely clueless as to what had made him so angry.
Archie Lockwood clenched his fists, turned, and strode toward the bathroom.
Once inside, he took a cold shower for a full thirty minutes before his temper finally cooled.
By the time he emerged from the bathroom, she was already asleep, lying on her side with her head on the pillow.
He sighed, left the bedroom, and headed toward Rory's room.
Rory was leaning over her desk drawing. Seeing Archie Lockwood push the door open, she quickly craned her neck to look behind him. "Dad, where's the pretty lady?"
"Tonight, she's sleeping with me," Archie Lockwood replied, his expression stern but tinged with awkwardness.
Shirley Lockwood put her pen down in frustration. "But you promised she would sleep with me!" she said angrily.
"Ahem... It's just that... she has trouble getting around. It's better if she stays with me tonight."
