Madam King wiped away her tears, a look of understanding dawning on her face. "I'm sorry, Young Madam. You're right. We were being selfish, not thinking about you."
Annabelle Linton smiled faintly and stepped forward to hug Madam King. "It's not your fault, Madam King. Thank you for taking care of me these past two years. After I'm gone, I hope you'll be well."
Madam King sighed and hugged Annabelle Linton back, smiling as she said, "Young Madam, you're a wonderful person. I'm sure you'll meet someone much..."
"Where do you think you're going—"
Leona Grant's voice suddenly boomed from upstairs.
Annabelle Linton looked up, her gaze meeting his eyes, which were as cold and black as an abyss. The look in her own eyes instantly turned just as cold.
"What else would I be doing? Leaving this place, of course," Annabelle Linton said coolly.
"Leaving?" Leona Grant's expression suddenly darkened. He walked down the stairs to her side. "Who gave you permission to leave?"
