The man looked down and gently asked the girl in his arms, "How are you? Are you okay?"
The girl kissed him and said coquettishly, "I'm fine. Honey, what took you so long? I've been waiting for half an hour. The movie's already halfway over."
The man said guiltily, "I'm sorry, honey. I was in a meeting and just got so busy I lost track of time. It's not that I don't care about you, I was just really swamped. Please don't be mad at me, okay?"
"Oh, forget it. My husband has to work hard to support our family, I know it's not easy. I forgive you. But don't let it happen again!"
The man kissed the girl back, then wrapped an arm around her and they left.
The boy on the ground watched their retreating, embraced figures. He seemed to freeze, as if dumbstruck. Then, snapping out of it, he collapsed to the floor and began to sob his heart out.
