It all happened so fast, the man didn't even have time to react before he saw Annabelle Linton pointing a knife at him, her expression grim. "I'll say this one last time. Give me the key!"
The man pulled out a gun, aimed at Annabelle Linton, and fired. Annabelle deftly dodged the bullet and, in one smooth motion, kicked the gun from his hand.
Then, she sliced his throat with the knife. "Do you have a death wish? I'm giving you one last chance. Give me the key, or I'll kill you!"
"M-Ma'am... spare me! Where would I get a key? I don't have a ke— AHH!"
Annabelle Linton got to her feet and knocked him out with a single kick.
She ran to the cell door, grabbing the iron bars and looking through them at Aaron Wyatt. "Aaron Wyatt!"
Seeing she was safe, Aaron Wyatt looked at her with relief. "Annabelle, are you okay? Are you hurt?"
"I'm fine." Annabelle Linton gave him a reassuring smile, but then she suddenly smelled something.
