Robin Roland smiled. "I may look thin, but I'm strong. Back when Young Yancy was three or four, I used to carry him on my back while selling newspapers every day. I'd go from morning to night and not even feel tired."
The woman showed no trace of bitterness or complaint as she spoke. Instead, a smile graced her face as she reminisced about her child's younger days.
Holly Winslow was touched. It made her think of Wyatt Winslow. 'Her dad is the same way.'
In truth, she had her father, so she never lacked for anything; he had even filled the role of a mother for her.
She asked curiously, "Aunt Roland, you've been selling newspapers for many years?"
"For many years now. I started the year I was pregnant with Young Yancy. Selling newspapers might not seem respectable, but I can make three to four thousand a month."
