"Don't worry. He dotes on Shay more than anyone. She'll be fine. Besides, how could the nation's Imperial Concubine get into trouble so easily?" Howard comforted her calmly. At a time like this, he could barely fend for himself, yet he still had to comfort this indignant woman.
Hearing this, Vivian Lee finally relaxed a little. She glanced again at the man who seemed so calm and unperturbed. "So, you're just being exiled like this? Aren't you resentful?"
"There's nothing to be resentful about. Getting away for a change of scenery is fine," Howard said with a faint smile, adding, "My departure is perhaps the best solution."
Vivian Lee fell silent. After a long pause, she took a lipstick from her bag and wrote a string of numbers on the car window. Then, she coolly opened the door and stepped out of the car. "That's the number Shay called from in Arkanan last night. Keep it."
