His words held a hidden meaning, one she couldn't comprehend.
She glanced at the bag. It was full of miscellaneous odds and ends, nothing particularly important. Most of it was stuff she'd bought five years ago and had no memory of at all.
The only thing she remembered was the golden chamber pot. Elaine had once told her the story behind it.
The story was hilarious, but thinking back on it now, she felt more like crying.
"I don't want any of this. Have a servant throw it all out," she said bluntly, turning to leave.
However, a hand grabbed her.
'Even now, he's still going to pester me? Still trying to talk me out of the divorce?'
She found it laughable and turned her head to look at the hand holding her back.
To her surprise, the wedding ring that had once been on his ring finger, the symbol of their vows of love, was gone.
