"You're so shameless and improper." Joan Shaw quickly lowered her gaze, avoiding his eyes. "I'm ignoring you now."
As she said this, she tried to get up, but Miles Xavier pulled her right back down. "Eat with me."
Joan Shaw hadn't eaten breakfast and was a little hungry now. Glancing at the delicious food on the table, she nodded.
But Miles Xavier patted his lap. "Sit here and eat."
"No, too many people are watching," Joan Shaw refused, reaching for a chair behind her.
"Someone, take away all the empty chairs from the table."
"Yes, sir." Caleb Adler immediately ordered people to remove the chairs. A few seconds of CLATTERING followed.
Joan Shaw was speechless. For a moment, she didn't know what to say about this man.
She obediently sat in his lap, and only then did he smile with satisfaction. He picked up a small piece of egg and brought it to her lips. "Eat."
She mechanically opened her mouth, bit down on the egg, and chewed a couple of times.
