After lunch, Joan Shaw put on an apron and went into the kitchen to wash the dishes.
She had grown a bit quiet after Finn's mother brought up the topic of having children, which worried Finn Norris.
He came to the kitchen doorway and watched her wash the dishes. She looked so virtuous and domestic, just like a good woman who knew how to manage a home.
"Joan, don't take what my mom said earlier to heart."
"I won't. Your mom is just really eager for a grandchild. After all, you're not getting any younger this year." The mention of children made Joan Shaw's heart ache.
When she and Finn Norris came here, she had been fully prepared to marry him. But for some reason, two years had passed in a flash, and she had never been able to forget the man named Miles Xavier.
"My mom wants a grandchild, so we can adopt one from an orphanage," Finn Norris said with a smile. He had already thought of a plan for everything.
