The two of them held each other quietly for a moment. Claire Sinclair pulled away from his embrace and looked him over, her gaze careful and serious. Her heart ached at what she saw.
"Why did you have to get so thin?"
"I'm sorry," Adrian Quincy apologized sincerely.
Claire Sinclair shot him a look. "I don't want to chew you out right now. We'll settle this after we get back. Just tell me, how did you get down here?"
"Red J told me the entrance, and I brought my people in."
"Huh??" Claire Sinclair was stunned. "You brought people with you?"
Adrian Quincy gave a slight nod. "They're outside, waiting for the signal. They'll rush in when the time is right. For now, you can have some lunch and even take a nap. When you wake up, I'll take you home."
Claire Sinclair stared at him for a long moment before murmuring, "This all feels a little unreal. I'm not dreaming, am I?"
"You're not dreaming. I'm real."
"Then how did you get 1.1 billion?"
