Morgan Hayes was just about to go to sleep when he received a call from Shane Sterling.
Shane Sterling said over the phone, "Officer Hayes, I found someone at a bar."
'Finding someone isn't my jurisdiction,' Morgan Hayes thought. 'Besides, I'm on vacation.'
A moment later, he heard Shane Sterling add, "It's Annabelle Leighton."
Morgan Hayes immediately asked, "What happened to her?"
"She's drunk."
"Where is she?"
"I already took her home, but there's no one else here. My wife told me to call you. She said you'd probably be willing to step in. So, Officer Hayes, will you?"
"What's her address? I'm on my way."
Upon hearing that, Shane Sterling thought, 'Heh, this might actually work.'
He immediately sent Annabelle Leighton's address to Morgan Hayes.
Twenty minutes later, Morgan Hayes arrived at Annabelle Leighton's home.
Seeing that someone had finally come to take over, Shane Sterling quickly made his exit.
