Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: The Soul’s Reunion and the 15-Day Rite

The air crackled with killing intent as the Leader clashed with the masked figure. The Leader's sword blurred into a silver arc, but the masked man evaded with supernatural grace. Before the Leader could reset his stance, the masked man raised a hand, and a massive palm of spiritual energy manifested.

"Giant Crushing Hand!" The spectral palm slammed into the Leader, sending him crashing into the ground. His ribs shattered, and blood sprayed from his lips. Despite his critical condition, he refused to falter. If I retreat, he thought, a nightmare will be born.

"Weak attacks won't end this," he gritted his teeth. Channelling power from his Hallow, he ignited his soul's reserve. "Abyssal Strike!" A void of absolute darkness surged toward the masked man. To counter it, the assailant conjured a swirling Black Hole. The collision was catastrophic. A blinding explosion leveled the building, and under the cover of the debris, the masked man vanished.

Akuma collapsed, blood seeping from his wounds. Though his Hallow returned to him, his injuries remained. The Leader limped to his side, offering him a glowing Spirit Pill.

When Akuma woke the next morning, he found himself in a safe house. The Leader sat beside him, eyes heavy with sorrow. "That man... he was my brother," the Leader whispered.

Once recovered, Akuma gathered his group. "I will ask you only once," Akuma said, his voice firm yet fair. "Last night was a glimpse of the hell we face. If you wish to leave, do so now. No force, no judgment."

In unison, the group shouted, "We stand with you, Master!"

Akuma looked at them and decided to reveal the truth. "That masked man? He wasn't the true Leader of this realm."

"Then where is the real one?" someone asked.

"I don't know," Akuma replied, leaving the room in a chilling silence.

Akuma mounted his dragon and soared toward Rubi. When she appeared, Draven spoke in Akuma's mind: "Master, the time to restore her memories is now. But she must agree."

Akuma extended his hand to Rubi. "Come with me."

Rubi looked at him with a frown. "Have you no manners? You arrive and simply tell a lady to 'come up'?"

Akuma looked away, embarrassed. "I apologize. Please... join me on the dragon. No one ever taught me manners."

Rubi softened. "It's fine." As she climbed up, she whispered, "I don't know who you are, but you feel so close to me."

"Because your memories were stolen, just like mine," Akuma replied.

He summoned Draven to explain the process. Draven greeted Rubi respectfully. "To return what was lost, you must go to a place of absolute solitude. This rite requires Akuma; without him, the bond cannot be mended."

They arrived at a secluded cave. "It's pitch black," Akuma noted.

Rubi smiled and clapped her hands. The cave ignited with magical light, revealing a fully furnished home—a bed, a kitchen, even a bath.

Draven produced two Celestial Pills. "This will take time. I will guard the entrance. Take these."

Rubi swallowed hers first. "Nothing is happening," she muttered, feeling tired as she lay on the bed. Akuma swallowed his, but a wave of intense dizziness hit him immediately. He stumbled and fell beside Rubi.

As the dizziness from the pills took hold, Akuma fell onto the bed beside Rubi. The air in the cave began to vibrate with a strange, intoxicating warmth.

Under the influence of the Divine Energy, Akuma rose in a trance-like state. His eyes met Rubi's, which were clouded with a deep, hazy desire. As Rubi fell into his arms, the distance between them vanished.

Akuma leaned in, his lips meeting hers in a deep, desperate kiss. It wasn't just a physical act; it was as if years of loneliness and separation were being erased in a single moment. Their breaths hitched, mingling as one, as the energy of the pill surged through their bodies. Slowly, driven by a primal urge and the intoxicating magic, they began to undress each other, their movements guided by a love that had been suppressed for far too long.

Outside, Draven looked at the cave entrance. "This was necessary," he whispered. "The Master and Rubi loved each other deeply in the past, but they were never able to share a moment like this. Now, their union will bridge the gap in their souls."

Five days passed... Inside, the cave was a sanctuary of floating rose petals. Their romance continued, fueled by the spiritual essence.

By the 14th day... The intense physical and spiritual bonding finally shattered the locks on Rubi's mind.

Flashback:

The sky was blood-red. Thousands of enemies pursued them with bared steel. Rubi's leg was badly wounded, every movement a searing agony. But she wasn't on the ground. Akuma was carrying her in his arms.

He was gasping for air, covered in dust and blood. His body was failing, but his grip on her was iron-clad.

"Akuma, leave me!" Rubi cried against his chest. "Run, or they will kill you too. I won't be the reason you die!"

Akuma didn't slow down. He looked into her eyes with a fierce, unbreakable light. "I won't leave you. In this cruel world, you are the only one who stayed by my side. If we die, we die together. If we live... we live together!"

Present Moment:

In the silence of the cave, a single tear fell from Rubi's closed eyes onto Akuma's hand. This wasn't just a physical rite; it was the reunion of two souls that had been torn apart by fate.

Day 15. The rite was complete. Draven entered to find them sleeping peacefully, entwined under a single blanket. He smiled and left. When Rubi woke up and realized what had happened during those 15 days, her face turned bright red. She dressed quickly, embarrassed yet feeling a profound connection, and went outside to playfully scold Draven for not warning them about the pill's "side effects."

The next morning, Akuma woke up and realized he was bare. He scrambled to put on his clothes, his heart racing. But as he looked out, he saw Rubi. The way she looked at him was different now—it was the look of someone who finally remembered her soulmate.
