Chapter 20 - CHAPTER-19 "LEO'S SHOCKING LOVE CONFESSION"

The atmosphere in the grand living room was thick with the suffocating weight of exposed secrets. Leo stood at the center of the storm, his composure like a blade of ice amidst the heat of the unfolding scandal. Having laid bare the infidelity of Lucy and the cold calculation of Thomas, he had stripped away the golden veneer of the Kingston-Thomas alliance.

Richard and Isabella stood paralyzed, their own facades crumbling. The question haunted their eyes, silent yet screaming: How did he know? How had their son seen through the years of polite dinners and staged photographs to the hollow, loveless core of their marriage?

Thomas, however, was a man forged in the fires of corporate warfare. His initial shock quickly curdled into a dark, opportunistic rage. He realized the Kingston marriage was a house of cards, and he moved to leverage the only weapon he had left: reputation.

Thomas glared at Leo, his voice dropping into a low, predatory growl.

"Ok, young man, I agree with you," Thomas said, his eyes narrowing. "But what about my honor and respect?"

"I announced your marriage to Lucy to all my business partners. I announced it publicly to the media, to my family, to every entity involved in my empire."

"They praised me. They called Lucy a lucky girl for marrying a sensational Rockstar, an individual billionaire who reached success through hard work. If they find out this marriage was halted after such an announcement..."

Thomas took a step closer, his gaze threatening.

"Ok, young man. You don't want to marry Lucy. But what about your popularity? What about the respect you receive from society? If you cancel this marriage, you will be insulted. You will become a rumor to your fans."

"Lucy made mistakes in the past, but she will not repeat them with you. Just marry her. I promise she will be loyal, responsible, and loving."

When Leo remained unmoved, Thomas's voice turned into a blatant warning.

"If you do not marry Lucy, I will not spare you."

Leo met the threat with a chillingly cool tone.

"I am sorry, Uncle. But I am not going to marry Lucy."

"I cannot marry her, not only for these reasons, but because I have another valid reason to reject her."

A ripple of shock went through the room. Richard and the rest of the family watched with bated breath. Near the edge of the group, Amy felt a surge of triumphant hope. She smoothed her dress, certain that this was the moment Leo would declare his love for her.

High above on the landing, hidden behind a heavy marble pillar, Elsa felt as though the world were collapsing. She pressed her hand tightly against her chest, the phantom sensation of a heartbeat thumping painfully against her palm.

"It's over, Leah," she whispered to herself, closing her eyes as tears escaped. "Leo is going to express his love for Amy. Just accept it."

"The man you loved is going to find his true love, and it isn't you. It hurts, but I have always been unlucky in love. If he is happy with his soulmate, I will be happy for him. I only wish my story with Leo hadn't started like this."

Downstairs, Leo turned to face Richard and Isabella.

"What is the exact reason you are rejecting Lucy?" Richard asked, his voice shaking.

Leo looked down. His heart was racing, the sound of his pulse roaring in his ears, mirroring the frantic heartbeat Elsa felt upstairs. He took a long, steadying breath.

"Dad, I always hated love and marriage," Leo began, his voice clear and resonant. "I was scared of relationships... until I fell in love with my soulmate."

"I didn't want to fall in love with her. But I have fallen deeply in love with a girl. She was already in my mind and my heart before I even realized it."

"I tried to stop myself. I tried to stay away, telling myself that love only brings pain. But..."

Leo paused, his eyes glazing over as he remembered the small moments, the kindness, and the presence of the girl who had changed him. He began to speak from the very depths of his soul.

"Dad, you know I always follow my heart. From the first day I met her, I felt something. I fell in love with her innocence, her cute eyes, her kindness, and her nature. She is beautiful from the inside out."

"This girl made me fall for her so deeply that I feel it every second. Without her, my life will always be incomplete. I want her heart and her hand in my life forever, Dad."

Richard looked at his son and smiled, seeing a spark of genuine life in Leo that had been missing for years. Isabella's eyes filled with tears of joy. Tina, standing nearby, was utterly bewildered but smiled nonetheless.

Who is the girl who stole my brother's heart? Tina wondered. He's become a poet. Who is this lucky girl?

Thomas smirked, casting a glance at Amy. Amy, glowing with pride, took two confident steps forward toward Leo.

"Yes," Thomas thought smugly. "It must be my second daughter, Amy."

Elsa, unable to watch any longer, let out a silent, broken sob.

Then, Leo spoke the name that shattered the silence of the room.

"I LOVE ELSA!"

The name hung in the air like a thunderclap. Amy froze, her smile turning into a mask of pure shock and humiliation. Thomas's jaw dropped. Richard and Isabella looked around in confusion, searching for the girl their son was naming.

Upstairs, Elsa's eyes flew open. Shock radiated through her spirit, but it was immediately followed by a terrifying sensation. She felt her form becoming unstable, becoming truly invisible even to her own eyes. A cold, clinical atmosphere began to bleed into her surroundings.

In a city miles away, the lights of an ICU flickered. Doctors and nurses moved with frantic urgency around a bed where a girl named Leah lay tethered to machines.

"Without Elsa, I can't live, Dad," Leo's voice echoed in the distance of her mind. "I love her and want to marry her."

Inside the hospital, a doctor checked a monitor and shook his head.

"Her condition is critical," he told the nursing staff. "Making her live is becoming nearly impossible."

Outside the glass doors of the ICU, Kayla stood with her forehead pressed against the pane, her hands folded in a desperate prayer for her friend's safety.

Suddenly, Elsa found herself standing in the middle of the sterile room. She looked down at the bed and saw her own body—pale, broken, and surrounded by the hiss of a ventilator. The words of the Creator echoed in her soul with terrifying clarity: "If you try to save Leo's life from danger, you will lose your own."

She had used her powers to quench the fire. She had reached beyond the limit to pull him from the wreckage. And now, the price was being collected.

"I LOVE ELSA......!"

Leo's declaration of love rang through her mind one last time, a beautiful, tragic irony.

Elsa fell to her knees beside her dying body, her spectral hands trembling as she reached for the girl on the bed.

"No..." she sobbed, the monitor's steady beep... beep... beep... slowing down. "Leo..."
