Chapter 281 - Chapter 281: I’m Not That Generous Either

Kael and Gray left the infirmary.

"Gray, head back to the arena first. I need to use the bathroom. I'll be there in a minute."

"Got it."

Gray nodded and left without a second thought.

A moment later, Bacchus also walked out of the infirmary, his body wrapped in bandages. Although his injuries were worse than Elfman's, his mental exhaustion was much lower, so he was not in any real danger.

But the instant Bacchus stepped outside, someone pulled a black hood over his head.

"Who?!"

Bacchus immediately tried to fight back, only to realize that the other person's strength was far beyond his own. He was completely unable to resist. He had never run into anything like this before.

A rain of punches came down on him.

Bacchus screamed in pain, and after a while, he blacked out again.

When he woke up, he found himself stripped naked and dumped in the middle of the street, surrounded by a crowd of spectators.

The incident instantly sent Bacchus straight onto the front page of the day's news.

In the end, the case remained unsolved.

Still, everyone knew there were only a handful of people in all of Fiore who could leave Bacchus that helpless, and one of the people he had offended that day just happened to be one of them.

As for this matter, Goldmine of Quatro Cerberus had only one comment:

"Serves him right."

With a mouth as foul as Bacchus's, getting taught a lesson was only natural.

Grand Magic Games Arena

"I really didn't expect Jenny to get matched against Erza."

Hibiki looked a little helpless.

"Jenny has had seven more years to train than Erza. She might still have a chance."

Ren tried to sound as optimistic as possible.

Of course, it was only optimism. He had seen Erza's swordsmanship before. Back when they fought the Oración Seis, the three of them had all been taken down by Racer, yet Erza had still remained standing.

"Erza..."

Eve looked at Erza with pure admiration.

He had always liked women like her, and that had not changed in the past seven years.

Ren immediately corrected him.

"Shouldn't you be calling her your junior now?"

Eve had been sixteen seven years ago. Now, another seven years had passed. Even though he still looked young, he was already twenty-three.

"No! I'm still calling her Big Sis!"

[The 'Fairy Queen' Erza was already famous across Fiore seven years ago, while Miss Jenny is known as Fiore's number one gravure model. Let's see who comes out on top!]

[Let the match begin———!!]

[Full-Body Take Over: Machina Soul!!]

Jenny activated her Take Over magic at once.

"'Fairy Queen' Erza, don't think I'm only Fiore's number one gravure model. My strength is—"

Erza did not wait for her to finish.

With a flash of Requip and a burst of speed, she moved first.

"Fairy Dance: White Lotus!"

Her figure blurred.

In the next instant, she was already right in front of Jenny.

"Wait! I haven't finished my—"

Thud!!

Jenny was knocked down on the spot.

[The match is over!!]

[Winner: Erza Scarlet of Fairy Tail Team A!!]

Hibiki turned to Ren.

"Ren, what were you saying just now?"

"..."

Ren had nothing to say.

Jenny's magic was actually quite good. Otherwise, she would never have been selected for the Grand Magic Games. But unlike Erza, Jenny spent a lot of time on publicity work and appearances.

Erza, on the other hand, was a fighter through and through.

The gap between them was obvious at a glance.

They had assumed Erza would be weaker after losing seven years, but looking at her now, did she seem like someone who had fallen behind?

"As expected of Erza!"

Eve's eyes sparkled as he looked at her.

In the spectator stands, all the members of Fairy Tail were cheering.

Fairy Tail was not surprised by this result.

Time could make others stronger, but that did not mean Erza had become weak.

Erza's original foundation was already excellent, and her physical abilities had always been outstanding. The seven-year gap others had over her was mainly in magic power. That was the one thing she lacked the most.

As long as she had enough magic power, Erza's strength would rise sharply.

Mermaid Heel

"What a fast strike!"

Risley looked genuinely surprised.

Millianna smiled and said, "Erza's swordsmanship is amazing. But when it comes to swordsmanship, Kael is the strongest."

She had seen Kael and Ikaruga cross blades at the Tower of Heaven. Kael's swordsmanship had completely overwhelmed Ikaruga's.

"When it comes to swordsmanship, Kagura is stronger!"

Arana argued at once.

The strongest swordswoman she had ever seen was Kagura, and she refused to believe Kael could be better with a blade.

"Who is better can only be decided after a match."

Kagura spoke calmly.

If it was a contest of overall strength, she admitted that she was below Kael. His fight with Jura the day before had already proven enough. Kael was undoubtedly Fiore's strongest wizard.

But if it was purely a contest of swordsmanship, then without a real duel, words meant nothing.

Even so, she continued watching Erza closely.

The move Erza used just now was undoubtedly an excellent sword technique.

[With that, only one match remains for the second day of the Grand Magic Games.]

[The final match of the day: Kagura Mikazuchi of Mermaid Heel vs. Yukino Agria of Sabertooth!]

[Another battle between two beauties——!!!!]

Sabertooth

Frosch looked at Lector and asked, "Who do you think will win?"

The moment he heard the question, Lector shouted, "Isn't it obvious? Of course it's Yukino!! Why doesn't Frosch understand something so simple?!"

"Frosch thinks so too!"

Orga crossed his arms and said, "Hey, this is looking bad. If we lose this match too, the Master is going to be furious."

"Not just furious. He'll be enraged," Rufus said coldly. "There have been too many unexpected developments this time. Kael from Fairy Tail, and Sting's failure in today's event... too many accidents piled together, and our points have dropped badly. And now Yukino's opponent is Kagura."

Rufus genuinely regretted provoking Kael from Fairy Tail.

But when facing someone as famous as Kael, who could really resist the urge to challenge him?

The result, of course, had been miserable.

He had ended up with only one point on the first day, and that was only because Kael had been targeting Raven Tail. If he had not provoked Kael, Rufus was sure he could have taken eight points. In that case, Sabertooth would have at least eighteen points by now.

The Master would still have been angry, but not this angry.

Now, they were completely on the defensive.

"Tch!"

Sting clicked his tongue in frustration, but he knew the two of them were right.

Yukino quickly tried to defend him.

"No, Lord Sting was just unlucky. If he had known the event was about transportation—"

Sting cut her off at once.

"That doesn't matter. You understand why you're here on this team, right?"

Yukino straightened immediately.

"It is to fight in a way that does not disgrace Sabertooth's name, and I must win."

Mermaid Heel

"Good luck, Kagura!" Millianna shouted.

Beth added, "Take my support with you too!"

Kagura stepped into the arena.

"Don't worry. I can already see it... the path of my blade."
