Taking a deep breath, Inv jumps down into the abyss. Aiming for the pole.
Dropping down at fast speeds with wind blowing in his face. Inv falls right towards the pole.
WHOOSH*
Right as Inv is falling, a cyan lizard appears out of nowhere heading right towards the duo.
'Damn it!' Seething in rage for a cyan lizard to attack him mid fall, Inv turns his body towards the fast-approaching lizard.
As the lizard is about to crash into Inv with its jaws wide open.
Moving a bit in the air, Inv winds his leg up and with all his strength kicks the lizard right in the snout!
Crunch*
Having a part of its skull crushed under the forceful kick, the lizard flies off spinning into the abyss, stunned to a cruel death.
After kicking the damn lizard away, Inv can tell he broke his leg kicking the lizard that hard. But he has no time to worry about that!
Trying to adjust himself back to aiming for the pole he's about to grab it…
But misses it only by just a couple inches.
'NO!' In horror Inv's hearts rates spikes in fear.
Looking further down Inv can see a couple more poles sticking out. But with him gaining more speed by falling down he doesn't know if his arm can take it…
…
But feeling his partner's small breaths on his back at this moment gives him all the motivation he needs!
If he doesn't do it, his partner will die!
Falling down at faster speeds, Inv falls towards the next pole.
Right as Inv is about to pass the pole he reaches his free paw out, gripping hard on the spear with Joey's food in the other paw so it doesn't fall.
The moment Inv's paw connects with the horizontal pole.
SNAP*
Inv feels an excruciating amount of pain, it feels like his arm just snapped in 2.
But unwilling to let go. Amongst the torrent of pain, Inv holds on to the pole for dear life until he stops swaying side to side.
…
Finally, Inv stops swinging on the pole and goes still.
…
Letting out a small sigh, Inv tries to pull himself onto the pole but is immediately reminded of his now broken arm. Thankfully with the help of his other paw holding the spear he's able to balance himself on it.
Before being able to look around his surroundings Inv is reminded once again that the cycle is almost over.
R-RUMBLE*
Feeling even the pole he's balancing on rumble and the surroundings growing darker. Inv can tell he doesn't have much time left.
Looking down he sees a couple more poles sticking out that are much closer to him…
At this moment, he remembers where he is! Remembering this is the one part where he had to use spears to climb up Inv starts quickly climbing back down.
As Inv reaches the platform where he first started to carry Joey.
Drop*
Inv feels a stray piece of rain hit his nose.
Feeling a chill down his spine, Inv looks over the edge where he is. If he remembers correctly the tunnel they both came out of earlier should be directly underneath him!
But when he looks down, he can't believe what he sees.
Slosh*
Looking down, Inv sees the big blue mass he killed earlier with the egg bomb. If he remembers correctly, Joey called it Rot…
'I thought I killed it?! Why is it back?!' Inv yells in his mind.
The worst part, it was completely covering the entrance to the tunnel that leads to the pipe back to the shelter.
Looking back up, Inv can feel the rain starting to fall down. Every moment its pace going faster and faster.
Looking around quickly, Inv spots a rock.
Knowing how these big blue masses of flesh work. He knows they can be lured by sound.
Looking back down, Inv throws the rock with all his might on a surface away from the tunnel entrance.
He can only hope this will lure it away.
Bonk*
Hearing the rock hit the ground, he sees the Rot twitch in the direction the rock landed.
Slowly, the Rot starts moving toward where the sound came from.
Feeling the rain pounding harder and harder against his skin, he knows this is his only chance.
Right as the last remnant of rot isn't covering the tunnel entrance, Inv jumps down.
Sliding right into the hole, Inv scampers quickly down the tunnel into the pipe, escaping from the rain.

…
Poking his head out, Inv looks around for any lingering threats. Seeing nothing, he pops out grabbing onto a pole.
Sliding down the pole, Inv lands on cold hard metal.

…
"Phew… we made it Joey…" Inv mumbles to himself.
After escaping the many dangerous threats that happened in this small amount of time, Inv finally starts to calm down.
Looking at the spear he is still holding, all 6 batflys are still pierced on it despite being a bit… soggy, from the rain.
Feeling the small pulse of his partner on his back as well tells Inv that he succeeded.
Succeeded on getting his partner to safety with food.
He didn't fail.
For once in his life. Inv feels an extremely rare sense of accomplishment.
'I… I actually did it!'
Feeling happy for once in his life, Inv believes that all of his hardships and many cycles of repeatedly dying and fighting was meant for this moment.
To test if he was strong enough to protect his partner.
All the struggle wasn't for nothing…
The culmination of fighting for survival for eternity can finally be put to use.
To protect his partner.

Feeling the adrenaline leave him, Inv starts weakly limping to the shelter. With the adrenaline leaving him he can feel his broken arm and leg at full blast now. On top of the explosion that hit his waist, Inv isn't in the best of shape right now.
The only thing keeping him moving forward earlier was pure adrenaline and determination.
Climbing up the pole, Inv struggles with his broken arm in his tired state.
Pushing himself one last time Inv reaches the pipe that leads into the shelter.
Entering the shelter, Inv climbs out and limps over to one of the walls.
Hearing the loud clashing sounds of the shelter closing, Inv finally loses all strength and plops down on his stomach.
