Chapter 11 - Rewind (I)

The road was bumpy and desolate. the clopping of the horses rather loud, In a rhythmic manner Clip clop, clip clop. Raymond was relaxed, yet he felt like he was constantly on his toes. His head was definitely clear, but it was rather loud after the conclusion he had drawn in Isle. Ellora seemed to not notice much of a difference other than her own satisfaction. She had been giddy after the time she spent with Raymond at the night market. It was really fun for her, and why would it not be? She loved him dearly. It wasn't what she had intended. She only wanted to repay his favor with gratitude. But she had long fallen for him. Not so deeply like in those fairy tales, full of love, but she had taken a liking to him. She, too, had not yet realized the depth of her liking. She thought that she could forget the feeling and keep only gratitude in her heart. She reassured herself that it was only a fleeting feeling that time would fix everything, but she had a strong resolve. She would try her best to be honest, at least to herself, to the best of her understanding. Her eyes grew heavy with a rhythmic clip clop of the hoofs. The carriage swayed in an orderly fashion with few sudden but light jokes.

She has soon drifted away. A beautiful girl, soft under the cover of the night figure, looks small and lonely as she lifted her face to the footsteps of a stranger. His steps heavy with guilt and the air smelling of only loneliness as the two figures faced each other. He was almost numb. He had made himself so. He smelled of light, cigar and his drunken scent. It had been a while since he let himself feel something. His eyes were tricking him, or at least he talked soon. The girl so beautiful, with hair like the night cascading over her shoulders and below, eyes resembling the vast sea, the tears trickling down her eyes shone like pearls, In the white moonlight she looked breathtaking, but then he noticed something more. He who had forgotten pain felt again at those deep engraved scars. On her beautiful soft skin.

She was enchanted. He looked ethereal, but gave off a feeling of fear. His hair, soft and golden, reminded her of beautiful daffodils. His eyes shone like emerald, serene and deep. Yet she saw more. His eyes seemed to give away what he hid behind that sturdy built. He looked tired, as if time had left his shoulders heavy. They both were frozen for a period of silence when he sat down beside her. It was impulsive, yes? But that moment will have brought to him his whole world until his dying day.
