The Whisperers of Thought were not born.

Centuries ago, a Longtenger alchemist sought to overcome the limits of language and distance.
His goal was to transmit thoughts across vast spaces—without words, without script, without delay.
After countless failed attempts, he finally crafted a vessel…
an organic medium capable of receiving and transmitting thoughts.
What was meant to be a tool, however, became something else.
Because thoughts…
are never empty.
The First Connection
The alchemist linked two of his creations together.
For the first time, thoughts were transmitted.
But something else came with them:
emotions
memories
fragments of consciousness
The creatures did not merely transmit…
they began to store.
And eventually…
to understand.
Appearance
Whisperers of Thought are small, floating entities of uncertain form.
their bodies appear half-fluid, half-mist
fine, thread-like tendrils drift slowly around their core
their surface is semi-transparent
within them flicker shadows and fragments of light
They possess no true eyes.
And yet, one cannot escape the feeling of being watched.
Ability
Whisperers do not transmit words.
They transmit:
fragments of thought
emotions
memories
impulses
The connection forms directly between minds.
Multiple Whisperlings can:
form networks
bridge vast distances
connect entire groups simultaneously
The Cost
Every connection leaves a trace.
Thoughts do not fully fade.
A part of them remains… within the Whisperling.
Over time, they accumulate:
memories of strangers
unspoken thoughts
emotions never resolved
The Change
With continued use, Whisperers begin to change.
their forms grow unstable
their whispers grow louder
they transmit things that were never spoken

Most people see them as useful tools.

feel emotions without origin

Whisperers behave erratically in the presence of those who carry a Shadowbody.

In the presence of a Soul Lotus, Whisperlings grow calm.
