Chapter seven begins with me sneaking back into the village. I made my way to the wooden wall that separated Iliasville from the outside world. Just because this place was considered safe didn't mean people here didn't still fear monster girls. It was more of a "better safe than sorry" type deal.

Thanks to my sunshine-esque boost kicking in with the day light, I crouched and jumped, clearing the wall in one smooth motion before landing quietly on the other side… or at least, that was the plan.

The moment I landed, several chickens scattered in every direction, clucking in a startled fashion. "Who's there!?" A soldier shouted from nearby.

I didn't panic. I just jumped again, landing on the roof of a nearby house with ease. From up there, I watched the person run over and look around, confused as hell. He scratched his head, muttered something under his breath, then walked off, probably thinking it was just animals. I covered my mouth, trying not to laugh. "…Stealth: A+." Once he was gone, I dropped back down and made my way home without any more issues.

I started working on breakfast as soon as I got inside my house. I really got lucky getting isekai'd as Luka. Without his cooking skills, I would be in trouble. After that, I took a quick shower, brushed my teeth, changed into a fresh set of clothes, and tied my hair back. Then I headed out to the training grounds. Everyone was there… except Kem.

"…Yeah," I muttered under my breath. That one was on me.

I didn't dwell on it long. Simon and another guard stepped forward, and we got straight to work. One round turned into three, then six… then twelve. I won all of them. Simon and the other soldier were giving me pointers in between to help hone my skills, and I did my best to grasp their teaching. By the end, both Simon and the other soldier were breathing hard, shoulders rising and falling as they tried to recover. Me? I barely felt anything.

"…This is starting to become a problem.." I sighed.

The sunshine buff was great—don't get me wrong—but it was getting in the way of my training. I wasn't improving my swordsmanship as much as I should've been because I kept overpowering everyone. It wasn't skill anymore. It was just stats, and that discouraged the others from training with me. I could see it in their faces.

Shaking it off, I grabbed some water and handed it to Simon and the other soldier. They thanked me and took a few long drinks. Simon wiped his mouth and looked at me. "Hey Luka, Mr. Adam has the things you requested ready. Be sure to pay him a visit, alright?" He informed me.

"Thanks, I'll be sure to do that." I stretched a bit before speaking again. "Can I take the rest of the day off? I want to pick them up… and I've got laundry to deal with." Out of the ten sets of clothes I owned, five were already dirty.

Simon nodded. "Go ahead, though, before you go. If you see Kem, tell him to come back to training. He hasn't shown up today, and I'm starting to get worried."

"I'll make sure to tell him when I see him." I replied, already turning to leave.

I spent the rest of the day training by myself before going to the blacksmith's forge. I stepped inside, ignoring the usual heat and smell of metal and smoke to look for a bear of a man. Mr. Adams was at the anvil, hammering away at a blade. When he noticed me, he stopped, raised a hand in greeting, then grabbed the glowing red sword with his tongs and dunked it into a bucket of water. HISSSSS. Steam burst upward as the metal cooled.

"Hey Mr. Adams, working hard or hardly working?" I joked, earning a chuckle from the man.

"Your stuff's ready." he said, jerking his head toward another room.

We stepped inside, and I was immediately struck by the sight before me. The floor was cluttered with an assortment of dumbbells, kettlebells, bars, and plates—everything I needed to bulk up. "Damn," I said, genuinely impressed. This was exactly what I had requested. I glanced back at Mr. Adams, and sure enough, he wore a proud expression. I smiled and said, "Thanks, Mr. Adams. You're the best."

The village blacksmith laughed it off, replying, "It was no trouble at all. So do you want help carrying it?" He asked.

"Nah." I replied, already reaching for a wheelbarrow. "I'll do it myself. Call it extra training." That earned him another chuckle.

"Suit yourself." He shrugged. "Drop off the wheelbarrow whenever, and be careful not to trip on the way." He returned to his work, and I began the task of hauling everything.

Trip after trip, I moved everything from the forge back to my house. The plates alone were a pain, but I managed. By the time I was nearly done, I paused for a second and looked at everything I'd moved. "I kind of feel silly now." I scratched the back of my head. Technically… I didn't need any of this. With my light constructs, I could already create these things. I could've skipped all this. But hindsight's a bitch. The blacksmith still put in the work, though, and I wasn't about to waste it.

"If anything, I can stack it." I thought. "Physical weight plus light layering…" That actually sounded kind of broken. "…Yeah, I'm definitely abusing that." I smirked, grabbing the last of the equipment. "I should probably name that technique…" I paused. "…Nah. Later." And with that, I hauled the final load home.

I was nearly done bringing everything home, pushing the last load in the wheelbarrow, when I passed by Kem's house. I hadn't seen him at all today or the day before, so I figured now was as excellent a chance as any to mend the air between us.

Slowing down, I tapped my chin, thinking about how I was going to approach this. Talking to him like an adult would be weird, as I was still in a teen's body, and on top of that, the guy already hated me and would probably feel insulted. 

After what happened yesterday… Yeah, this wasn't going to be easy. "What to do? Should I just go back and return with some food? That sounds like a good idea."

Feeling eyes on me, I looked up toward the second floor. Kem was there, staring through the window. The moment our eyes met, he slammed it shut. I sighed and walked up the steps, knocking on the door.

There was no response. I knocked again. Still nothing. I kept going—again and again—until ten minutes later, the door finally swung open.

"Stop that!?" He snapped, glaring at me. His voice was furious, but I could see the slight hesitation in him. He was scared. "What—what do you want?"

"I just want to talk." I said calmly. "And… to apologize for what happened yesterday."

That caught him off guard. For a split second, his expression shifted, but then it hardened again. "I don't want to hear anything from you, Mr. Golden Boy. Leave me alone." He then slammed the door shut in my face.

"…Seriously?" I muttered, then knocked again. And again. And again.

"Go away!" He shouted from inside.

I clicked my tongue. "Great. Now I have to commit a crime."

Stepping back, I looked around the house. The doors were locked, and the windows were already closed. That left one option. I looked up at the chimney. "The things I do…" Taking a running start, I leapt up onto the roof.

Going to the chimney, I balanced myself and lowered myself in. Before dropping, I coated my body in a thin layer of light of barely 0.1%. This layer was just enough to keep me from getting dirty. I also dimmed the brightness so it wouldn't attract attention. "Weeeeee." I slid down.

Honestly, this felt ridiculous. I shot through the chimney like Santa Claus and landed inside, rolling down like a carpet. I stop, get up, and brush the dirt from my knees. Looking up, I smirk at the expression of a bewildered Kem staring at me as if I had grown a second head.

"You were just—How did you—?!" He started yelling.

I, on the other hand, casually cracked my neck. "Doesn't matter. We're talking. Now." I told him, my tone leaving no room for discussion. "Kem—

He didn't even let me finish as he threw a bowl at my face, but I simply caught it. Why did I think this was a good idea?

"Get out!" He shouted.

"No." I replied flatly. "Not until we talk, you asshat." That set him off. He rushed me, swinging a punch. I could easily dodge it, but I didn't.

PUNCH!

THUD.

Nothing. I didn't feel a single thing. After everything I'd been through. My training, my experimentation with my powers, my above-average physical abilities, and the discovery of Sunshine—on top of all that, his punch might as well have been a tap.

I stared at him, completely unfazed. "Terminaste?" I looked at him unimpressed. Kem froze for a second, but seeing the look of boredom in me made him snap, getting him to throw punch after punch at me.

"You son of a bitch. HAAA!"

"Here we go?" I rolled my eyes as I let him hit me. Over and over, but it all amounted to nothing.

"Get out of my house, you freak!" He went with a right. "You piece of trash bastard!" And then the left.

I stayed still, letting him burn himself out… until he said something about Lukas's mom. I caught his fist mid-swing and looked him dead in the eyes. "And you're a jealous little shit!" I shot back, and he flinched. Hard.

I shoved him back with one hand. He stumbled, then grabbed a chair and swung. I stopped it with one hand and pushed him again. Harder this time.

THUD!

"AKK!" He slammed into the wall, wincing and grabbing his shoulder.

I looked at him again. Kem, the reason I stopped by over here was to put an end to this stupid feud between us. The fact that you're mad about stuff like this is childish."

"Shut up!" He yelled, leaning on the wall as he got back up. "Don't talk to me like you know anything. An outsider like you shouldn't even be here!"

I blinked. "…What the fuck does that have to do with anything?" At this point, the residents of this village were mostly new people who had moved in.

"Just die!" He spat.

"None of that crap from before matters anymore! You don't get to treat people like shit just because your life sucks, you pissbaby!"

He came at me again. I sidestepped, tripped him, and he slammed into the wall. Things rattled and fell to the floor. He grabbed a sword from the floor and charged, swinging wildly. "Die, you bastard!"

I dodged effortlessly. Plates shattered. Furniture cracked or cut down. He swung until he was completely out of breath. "Stop dodging!" He shouted as he gasped for air. "Coward!"

I raised my hand and flipped him off. "You would know."

That pushed him over the edge. He charged again. This time, I grabbed the flat of his blade with one hand, stopping it cold. His eyes widened in disbelief, but he didn't have an opportunity to ponder for long as I proceeded to punch him in the face.

He reeled back, holding his face as blood spilled from his nose. He screamed in pain as he rolled over. Tossing the sword aside, I grabbed him by the collar and pulled him above me. 'Grrr, let me go! He scrambled to escape, but I smacked him on the head.

"Shut up." I said, voice low, making him stop and look at me with fear. "You're just like your dad—a hateful, intolerant piece of shit who doesn't deserve to call himself a man." His body went still when I said that. "And you know what the worst part is?" I continued. "He taught you to be the same kind of asshole."

"That's not—" His voice broke. "Don't talk about my dad!"

"I will." I snapped. "Because he was a piece of shit. The past villagers also threw trash at my house and sold us rotten vegetables. And you're following right behind them. You bullied me. Treated my mom like garbage. And now you think you get to act like the victim after everything?"

He froze, his voice cracking. "You're not the only one who suffered, Kem. Other people have it worse. Way worse. What gives you the right?"

Kem started shaking as tears were dripping from his eyes. "S-stop… just leave me alone…"

I let go. He collapsed to the floor, crying. "…Damn." I sighed, rubbing the back of my neck. Maybe I went too far.

After a moment, I spoke again, quieter this time. "Look, Kem, what you've been doing for years is terrible, and it has to stop." I paused. "If you don't, you'll just wind up wasting your life being angry at people who don't deserve it."

He didn't respond.

"I'm serious." I added. "Don't end up doing something stupid because of this." That thought alone made me uneasy. If he ended up becoming a part of Ilias Cruez in the future, it would be another headache.

Kem sniffled, still not looking at me. "…I'm… sorry."

"…Alright." I nodded. "I'll leave." I turned toward the door. "Just… come back to training. Simon's worried about you." And with that, I walked out. Whatever happened next was going to be on him.

That was more tense than I would've liked. I thought this as I walked out the door. "I hope this wake-up call helps him." Walking down the steps, I grab the wheelbarrow and head on home.

After dropping off the wheelbarrow at Mr. Adams's, I made my way home and headed straight up to my room with dinner in hand. Nothing fancy—just bread, chicken jerky, diced potatoes, some soup, and tea. Funny enough, the chicken jerky was something I whipped up earlier with Mr. Adams using his forge setup as thanks. He liked it so much he asked me to make more for him next time.

After eating, I changed and sat down on my bed, waiting for nightfall. I glanced out the window while humming a tune. The sun was already beginning to dip below the horizon. By my estimate, it had to be around 5:45 P.M. If my Sunshine passive ability followed a consistent cycle, then I should feel the drop right around six. I didn't know for sure, but my guess couldn't be too far off.

I leaned back slightly, watching the sunset through the window. The power inside me was still there—strong, overwhelming, like heat trapped inside an oven. I opened my palm, letting a bit of it out. Golden fire burst out, glowing brightly and pulsing with intensity. The state that I was in didn't only affect my magic. My physical strength was elevated to a ridiculous level. That was exactly why I had to be careful. One wrong move, one careless action, and I could irreversibly break something… or someone.

There was a reason people feared Escanor. Too much power wasn't always a good thing if you couldn't control it. If I wasn't careful, I'd find myself treated the way Escanor's former kingdom did to him.

"…I wonder if I can control it." I hummed in thought. I'd already managed to control my light constructs, my output for the most part, and even my healing. There was no reason this should be any different. I was just about to test that idea when the sun finally dipped below the horizon.

And just like that it was gone. The strength drained from my body in an instant. The golden flame in my palm flickered, shrinking and becoming significantly dimmer. It was easy to see that if I wanted it to reach the same level as before, I'd need to give it more amp.

"And there it is." Six o'clock. From here until sunrise, my "gigachad mode" was out the door. "At least I don't turn into a twig." I smirk with a dry chuckle, closing my hand and letting the remaining flame go.

Dusting off my hands, I got up from my bed and grabbed my gear. I gathered my greatsword, regular sword, journal, quill, and knife. I headed downstairs, slipped out of the house, and made my way through the village. Avoiding the guards was easy at this point. I moved quietly, sticking to shadows and rooftops when needed until I slipped past the gates and into the forest.

Once I reached my usual spot, I set my things down and immediately got to work. I raised my hand and summoned a light sword. The golden flame in my palm flared before stretching outward, solidifying into an eighty-centimeter blade at about 0.7% output. In my other hand, I formed another flame and shaped it into a sphere, pushing more power into it at 8%. The orb expanded, humming faintly as the air around it vibrated, but everything stayed under control. 

"Good…" I smiled. I then tossed it forward. The sphere shot ahead like a fastball before stopping midair. I then proceeded to split the sphere into twenty smaller orbs.

The light sphere quaked as twenty smaller orbs came apart from it, hovering in place. This was where things got interesting. If one dagger cost around 0.4% of my reserves, then putting 8% into a single orb and splitting it into twenty means each piece would hold roughly that same value. 8 divided by 20 equals 0.4.

That meant I could pre-load power and distribute it however I wanted. If I wanted twenty short swords instead, which took about 0.5% each, I'd need a 10% orb. 0.5 times 20 equals 10. As for regular swords, that would be 0.7 % each, so 14% total. For Greatswords, I'd have to test that later, but I was guessing somewhere around 17%.

Instead of constantly pulling power from my body and draining myself mid-fight, I could prepare it in advance. Store it externally, then use it whenever I need it in that moment. There would be no wasted energy and no unnecessary strain since I had already prepared and healed my reserves in advance. It was efficient, clean, and smart. Sure, it required setup, but for nighttime fights when I was weaker, it was perfect and made deploying my power easier.

I glanced at the floating orbs, then back at my hand. "Definitely abusing this."

I commanded all twenty light orbs to reshape into knives. They shifted instantly, forming into sleek daggers of bright glittering light. I pulled my sword out. "Attack." I said, giving them a simple directive.

At once, they began to move, circling me like a school of fish. I raised my guard, eyes scanning every angle. One shot at me, but I was ready. 

CLANK.

I deflected it cleanly, but instead of dropping, it bounced off my blade and flew back into the air like a persistent fly. Another came from my blind spot. I reacted fast, backflipping out of the way as it whizzed past where I'd just been. I could make these constructs do almost anything as long as the instructions were clear. I set them to orbit and strike at random unless I told them otherwise.

I spent half the night like this, training and taking a few hits along the way. They weren't insanely fast, nowhere near Mach 2, but they were fast enough that I had to stay locked in just to keep up. I dodged, deflected, redirected—barely keeping control as the daggers came at me from every angle in random groupings.

By the time it got late, I was breathing hard, sweat was running down my face, and I had some minor bleeding, but I didn't stop. Three daggers curved toward me at once. "Haaagh!" I swung, deflecting all three daggers in quick succession, their impacts ringing out as they flew back before stabilizing midair again. Too close. Way too close.

Then I felt it. Danger. I turned to counter another strike, but my thigh was left open. "Urk, shit!" My leg buckled as I dropped to one knee. No blood, but it hurt. I shut my eyes for a split second.

Another dagger came down from above.

*CLANK.*

But I healed just in time. I barely got my blade up in time to block it over my head. The moment the pain faded, I pushed myself back up to see seven more coming straight at me.

I dodged three and twisted past another, but two followed, forcing me to cut them down mid-motion. With my boots digging into the ground, I skidded back while maintaining my balance. Then five more closed in from all sides. I pushed through, batting them away, though not unscathed. Sharp stings ran across my arm as a couple slipped through.

"That's it." I swung diagonally, clearing space, then canceled the command just as one last dagger was about to hit my chest. The constructs froze for a second before dissolving into fading light.

I exhaled and stepped back, taking a moment to breathe. After a short pause, I grabbed my journal and started writing.

Breaking my light into smaller, pre-made constructs sped everything up. More flexible. Less strain on my body. Instead of dumping power all at once, I could distribute it, control it, and adapt on the fly.

"Muy bien." I bobbed my head, scribbling it down. "This is definitely the way to go."

Wanting to try something else, I gathered all twenty light daggers and pulled them back together into a single sphere. The pieces merged smoothly, forming one large, glowing orb that drifted toward me. Without hesitation, I let it envelop my body. Light washed over me, blinding the area. When it faded, I was covered in armor.

It was nothing fancy. I was wearing knight boots, vambraces, gloves, a helmet, and a chest plate. The design was rough since I didn't put much effort into shaping it, but it didn't matter. This was just for testing.

I raised my hand and summoned more constructs. This time it was chains and two jet propellers. "Alright… time to steal from Green Lantern a little. Hopefully I won't get sued." I snorted and continued.

The chains wrapped around my body, tightening and locking into place, connecting me to the jet propellers behind me. I made sure the chains were heavy. It weighed a hundred tons, so they'd keep me anchored in place. Their weight didn't hurt me as the chains were floating, so it was like wearing a safety harness.

"Let's do this." I took a slow breath and brought my hand forward. "Let's do this." Waves of golden energy pulsed outward as they went to the orb. I was feeding it more power.

It started at 8%, the highest stable output I could reliably maintain without losing control. "So far so good." Then I pushed things further. 10%… 11%… 12%…

The orb expanded steadily, its glow intensifying with each increase. The air around me began to hum, then vibrate. The light grew hotter. 13%… 14%… 15%… 16%… 17%… 18%… 19%… 20%…

The sphere swelled to the size of a bed, and just like before, the environment was feeling its force. The ground trembled slightly. Pebbles shifted. The air itself felt heavy, like it was being pulled inward. "Keep it under control… keep it under control…" I clenched my arm, forcing stability as I continued sending more power to it.

28%… 29%… 30%… By thirty percent, the sphere had grown to the size of a shed.

"Holy shit…" The pull was intense now—so intense that I could feel my body being dragged. If it weren't for the chains, I probably would've been flying toward it. The chains yanked but kept me in place, holding firm as my boots scraped against the dirt. Leaves, sticks, and loose debris began lifting off the ground, drawn toward the light ball. Even the river nearby started to ripple unnaturally, its surface tugged toward the orb.

31%… 32%… 33%… 34%… 35%… 36%… 37%… 38%… 39%… 40%… That's when things took a turn for the worst.

The sphere began expanding faster, its glow turning blinding, its hum turning into a roar. The pressure in the air spiked violently as heat and force poured outward. Wind blasted back around me, trees bending under the strain. I heard wood crack in the distance and saw boulders shift and grind across the ground. This was getting dangerous.

As I was busy dealing with this, I didn't notice someone nearby, hidden behind a bush, clutching a tree and holding on for dear life. Her green eyes were wide, locked onto the insane scene unfolding in front of her as the pull of the orb threatened to drag her and everything in.

I gritted my teeth and forced myself to shut it down, but it wasn't that simple. It resisted me. It didn't stop flowing. I had reined it in enough so it wasn't exploding outward uncontrollably, but it was still leaking out, feeding the sphere against my will. "Tsk, come on…" I frowned, panic creeping in. "I thought we already went over this… fuck." I tried again, harder this time. Why the hell was my power acting up now?

My arm started going numb as more waves of energy poured out of me, fueling the massive glowing sphere. "Dios… ayúdam!" I hissed, trying to force it to listen. "You will listen to me!" I shouted, but the pain only got worse. Even the armor wrapped around my body started to flicker and drain. "…What?" I glanced back and saw the chains weakening, the jet propellers starting to tremble.

"Shit, shit, shiiiiiit!" I clenched my teeth, trying to hold everything together. "Aghhh!" The pain in my arms spiked, sharp and violent, and then the sphere began emitting a strange, distorted noise, something unnatural, as some weird arcs began zapping out. Was it about to explode? I wasn't sure, but I wasn't about to stick around to find out.

"Fine… you don't want to listen?!" With everything I had, I forced my arm upward. "Then get the hell out of my sight!" I roared, slamming my fist toward the sky with everything I had. "Hyaaaagh!"

In a blinding flash, the sphere launched upward, tearing through the air like a comet. Violent winds surged upward in its wake, leaving the area below intact. Just like that, the pressure vanished. The heat died down, and the world went quiet again.

I stared up, breathing hard, watching the massive streak of golden light carve across the sky.

"I really hope nothing bad comes from that." And of course, the moment I said it, my body gave out.

Everything went numb. My head felt wobbly, and my legs gave out on me. "Oh… no…" I muttered weakly before everything went black. I'd pushed too far. Way too far. I mentally cursed myself as I slipped away in unconsciousness. Why do I do this to myself?

...

Meanwhile, the giant ass-light orb I threw continued flying high above the Ilias continent, visible to anyone still awake at this time. To most, it looked like a shooting star or a miracle, a blessing from Ilias herself. Whatever people thought, it traveled farther and farther until it reached the southern sea at the edge of the continent.

The moment it made contact with the ocean, the world flashed.

A sphere of blinding gold detonated beneath the surface, lighting up the sea like a miniature sun had been born sent down. For a split second, the water itself turned transparent. Every current, every shadow, was caught in a frozen silhouette against the overwhelming glow that lit up the sea.

*BOOM!*

The ocean erupted in a massive column of water. It blasted upward, towering into the sky. The surface collapsed inward before violently rebounding, sending a colossal tidal wave surging outward in all directions.

The shockwave rippled beneath the surface, sending sea type monster girls fleeing in panic. The glow lingered for a few seconds more, pulsing faintly beneath the waves like the dying heartbeat of something unnatural before finally fading into darkness.

Luckily there was no incident, but this event had left a deep impression on those who were there. Nobody knew how it happened but the monster girls that were there to witness it wouldn't forget it anytime soon. It was etched in their brains, and it didn't take long for rumors to fly by.

...

Back in the forest, my unconscious body lay still.

The girl who had been watching me finally stepped out from the bushes. She approached slowly, curiosity written all over her face. She crouched down and leaned very close to me and poked my cheek. There was no response. She tried again. Still nothing. Seeing that I was unresponsive, she moved to my feet, grabbed me, and began dragging me toward the water. She stepped in, hoisted me onto her back, and carried me through the stream toward the waterfall, where I was never seen again.

A simple utility blade carried for close combat, survival tasks, and precision use. While basic, it complements Luka's versatility and quick-response fighting style.

Core Abilities (Age 14 – Suppressed State)

Holy Affinity (Innate): Gives strong resistance against corruption, curses, and mental interference, resulting in a shock.

Light Magic (Primary Ability): Luka can generate and manipulate light magic in the form of golden light. His golden light can take any shape or form limited only by his imagination. Light constructs created by him can become as lethal or nonlethal as he pleases. They can become intangible. (phasing through matter) and switch to solid impact instantly. Their weight and density are fully controllable. Constructs can float stationary by themselves or by his command. Using too large of outputs can cause physical weakness, numbness, and fatigue, but can be fully recoverable via meditation.

Swordsmanship (Formless Style): Adaptive, intent-based combat focused on timing and precision rather than brute force.

Weapon Talent: Can use any weapon he comes in contact, but true mastery still requires hard work and experience over time.

Meditation (Passive): Luka can heal his body through focused meditation or when asleep. It instantly heals nearly anything from minor to life-debilitating major injuries as well as fully restores stamina, physical condition, and magical reserves too peak. Pain, however, is still felt.

Cognitive Enhancement (Passive): Luka's mental capabilities are significantly improved due to his hybrid nature. He has a perfect memory, faster processing, learning speed, and above-average problem-solving ability.

Sunlight Enhancement (Passive / Conditional / Active): Luka's physical and magical abilities increase drastically during daytime. His strength, speed, stamina, durability, and output rise above anything and everything. In this state he is nearly unbeatable. As the sun sets, his power boost disappears, leaving him significantly weaker at night than if he were a normal person. Moonlight provides a minimal residual effect, allowing limited use of his abilities during night, though at reduced efficiency.
