Chapter 8: Slime Girl
...
I stirred in my sleep at the sensation of something pressing against me. My body felt heavy and exhausted, making me groan tiredly. Whatever was lying on top of me was cool and wet to the touch. The distant roar of rushing water echoed in my head, growing clearer the more awake I became. At the same time, my back was protesting against the hard surface beneath me.
"My back… my fucking back." I groaned weakly.
My eyes slowly fluttered open, immediately landing on a rocky ceiling that clearly indicated I definitely wasn't home. "Ugh…What did I do?" I muttered, shutting my eyes again as I forced myself to remember yesterday.
I was training my powers. I conjured a giant light sphere. I overloaded with more than 40% power and shot into the sky when I lost control and passed out in the middle of the woods.
"…Dios mío…" I sighed in Spanish, mentally kicking myself.
Opening my eyes again, I stared up at the uneven stone ceiling. Wherever I was, it definitely wasn't my house or the forest clearing, so I must've been moved. My body still felt weirdly heavy, but I felt like I could stand. Then something else finally clicked in my brain.
Why don't I feel my clothes? More importantly, what exactly was lying on top of me?
Slowly, I moved my hands across my body, only to freeze when my palms brushed against something unbelievably soft and bouncy. "…Huh?" I muttered blankly. My hands instinctively moved again, feeling smooth skin and a slender back pressed against my chest. I immediately let go and jerked upright. "!!!" My eyes widened to the size of dinner plates.
A girl—no, something was sleeping on top of me like I was a mattress, her arms loosely wrapped around my body. She was petite, looking no older than fifteen or sixteen, with semi-transparent blue skin that almost looked see-through. On top of her head was a strange mass of green hair-like tendrils tipped with three yellow antennae. And she was completely naked.
"What the hell happened last night?" I stared slack-jawed at the monster girl on my stomach.
For a second, my brain completely short-circuited. In my head I vaguely recognized her appearance from something, but before I could dwell on that, she started waking up. She rubbed one of her eyes sleepily before looking directly at me with bright green eyes.
And just like that, my first real monster girl encounter. I was not as mentally prepared as I thought. I didn't know what emotion I was supposed to feel first. Excitement? Fear? Panic? I mean, yeah, I talked a lot of shit before about building a monster girl harem and throwing hands with Ilias someday, but actually waking up next to a naked monster?
Then again… I was in the Monster Girl Quest world. I feel like this outcome was inevitable.
The girl blinked curiously at my stunned expression. Unfortunately, because of her current lack of clothing, my eyes kept trying to drift downward against my will. I forcibly dragged my gaze back up to her face instead.
We stared at each other in complete silence for several seconds like we were locked in some kind of awkward staring contest. Why wasn't she saying anything?
"Uh, hi!" I replied, forcing a strained smile. This wasn't how I imagined my first encounter with a monster girl would go, but I decided to try to be friendly.
While doing this I took a moment to do a once over of my surroundings. It seemed I was in a cave, and behind me rushed the fast-flowing water of a waterfall. Hold the phone—was I on the other side of the waterfall where I trained right now?
I looked back down at the small naked jello girl sitting on top of me. Just saying that made me feel weird. I really thought I had more time to get accustomed to this. I asked her if she was the one who brought me here and she seemed to understand because she gave me a nod with a cute sound.
"Cute." I thought but, shaking my head off it, I politely introduced myself. "Hi, my name is Luka. What's yours?" I figured introducing myself would be a good start, but it seemed it wasn't going to be that easy because when I asked for her name, she only stared at me in confusion, tilting her head adorably.
"Do you even have a name—Hey!" I began to ask, but she simply moved closer to me. I was about to push her off when, suddenly, she kissed me on the mouth. What
I was stunned. It happened so suddenly that I didn't react in time. Now, while I was a virgin, that didn't mean I had never kissed anyone before. I think it was like five over the course of my life. My last kiss was definitely my best one back on Earth. But this—this completely blew it out of the water. It wasn't even close. Her kiss was cool and wet, almost like drinking fresh spring water, but somehow it felt like the most wonderful thing I ever experienced. My initial instinct was to move away, fight it off, something—and to my credit, I actually did grab her shoulders to pry her off me, but I didn't follow through.
Instead of pushing her away, I pulled her closer and kissed back. The blue-skinned girl made a soft sound of surprise at my forwardness but leaned into it, her tongue shyly meeting mine as the tendrils atop her head swayed happily.
It was like fireworks had gone off in my head. The sensation of her mouth against mine sent a rush through me that made it difficult to think clearly. Euphoria, satisfaction—all of it mixed together until the only thing I wanted was more.
My hands moved almost on their own, sliding down her back before reaching her butt. "Mmm~!" Another surprised moan came out of her, but she was enjoying it nonetheless as she deepened our kiss.
A stray thought crossed my mind despite the situation. How the hell can something feel so cool, bouncy, firm, and soft all at the same time? This wasn't how I imagined my first real make-out session to go in this world, and I was still confused about everything, but my mind and body didn't care and focused only on the adorable monster girl in my arms.
Eventually, we needed to separate for air. Well, I needed air. I had no idea if the monster girl species she was or monster girls in general could hold their breath longer than humans, and this really wasn't the time to go into biology. Maybe another time. We separated, and I gasped, a thin strand of saliva connecting us for a second before it broke.
"Hah… hah… that…" I breathed heavily, staring at her. "That was amazing."
We looked into each other's eyes without saying a word. Her smile was soft, a little shy, and stupidly adorable, but she looked just as eager as I did to continue. Seeing that expression made something in me want to pull her closer and never let go. What the hell was going on with me?
The kiss just felt too good. Wonderful, honestly. Enough that it left me wanting more of her even though I should probably be asking questions. Wait… was this monster magic? Was I being affected right now? The thought briefly crossed my mind, but it didn't make me want to move away. If anything, it made me want to go further.
My mind wasn't the only thing responsive. When she kissed me, it also got me to pop a boner, and now I was beside a naked girl whose name I still didn't know, with my penis pressing up against her stomach. Obviously she felt it and looked down. Seeing it, she looked back at me with a joyous smile as if she were delighted I got erect. As for me, I was focused on her mouth, those glistening lips, and, as if of the same, my dick twitched. All these perverted thoughts made me feel like I was going crazy. I wanted that mouth of hers sucking on my dick right now.
As if knowing what I was thinking, she bent down and reached for my exposed member with her slender hands. My whole body jolted when she touched my dick. Her face was just inches away from my penis as she stared at it with curiosity, as if she were fascinated. She gave it a few strokes with her hand, and that was enough to make me curl my toes. My heart was pounding rapidly as she proceeded to open her hot mouth.
My head was foggy, instincts and common sense wrestling each other in the worst possible moment. Part of me, a very loud, very stupid part of me, wanted to let the moment happen and let loose on this sexy monster girl. But the other half—the part that had been doing everything he could to get stronger and survive in this world—was screaming that something wasn't right. You can guess which was louder.
Just as she was inches away from giving me my first blowjob, a thin blade of light peered through the waterfall, landing on me, and that's when everything clicked back for me. My left eye was burning.
Instantly I felt my mind snap back to reality. "Stop!" I pushed myself away.
Unfortunately, I stood up too quickly and ended up tripping on the ledge of the waterfall and plummeting to the water. "Aaaahhhhhh!" But before I had an unplanned swim, something grabbed my foot and caught me. "What?!"
I looked down—or up, depending on how you were looking at it—to see my foot wrapped by a green tendril, keeping me from falling. I was currently naked, with my dick hanging on, dangling upside down by one leg, behind a waterfall.
"Sigh… this is the type of shit that makes me wonder if I'm actually drunk and just hallucinating all this back home." I deadpanned as I was slowly pulled upwards.
The blue monster girl pulled me up with the strange appendage hanging from her head, bringing me back inside until I was set down in front of her. I landed awkwardly, sitting cross-legged. "Ugh… thanks," I said, not knowing what to say as I covered my junk as I was still naked.
The blue monster girl had a relieved look on her face as she released her tendril from my foot. For a second, it almost felt normal. Then she started moving closer again, clearly trying to continue where we had left off.
I immediately raised both hands. "No. No thanks." Saying that while she was still completely naked in front of me was a test of willpower I did not ask for. I forced my eyes up and kept them there.
Contrary to what I thought, she did understand me. How did I know? Because when I said no, she expressed her understanding through a look of disappointment and sadness. My heart nearly broke. "…Damn it." I muttered under my breath. I was absolutely going to kick myself for this later.
That aside, this was a legitimate shock for me. I half expected her to try despite my refusal, but she was actually more understanding than I thought. Last I remembered, monster girls weren't fans of the terms "no" and "consent." But she just looked disappointed, similar to how a child is told they can't have candy. I guess she was just one of the few outliers. That said, this was all weird, and honestly, I couldn't tell if I was relieved or disappointed.
Looking back toward the waterfall, I noticed that the sun was up. "Oh shit, it's morning!" I had to get back to the village before anyone noticed I was missing. I turned to run but stopped. "Right… no clothes." My head snapped around as I started searching frantically.
The monster girl seemed to notice what I was looking for and tapped my shoulder. "What is it?" I asked, and she pointed toward a neat pile of clothes set beside my weapons.
My sword, greatsword, knife, journal—everything was there, neatly organized. Did she do this? 'Better question, how the hell was my stuff dry? Never mind. I don't have time for this.' I shook my head. "Thanks." I said, hesitantly rubbing her head.
She immediately smiled and leaned into my touch, rubbing her tentacled head against it affectionately. Damn it, that's cute.
I quickly got dressed, and to avoid getting soaked, I covered myself in a thin layer of light, like I did to get inside Kem's house. I turned to leave, but before I could, the monster girl tugged at my collar. "What's wrong?" I asked.
She stared up at me with pleading eyes, tearful and about to cry. She didn't want me to leave. I thought about it for a sec. Now that I knew she didn't mean any harm, I didn't see why I couldn't come back. Plus, I liked this area.
Leaning down, I patted her head to ease her worries. "Relax. I'll be back tonight, okay?"
When I said that, the transparent blue monster girl immediately jumped for joy and hugged me, pressing herself against my chest. She was a head shorter than me, so she was only up to my shoulders, maybe a bit less. She snuggled affectionately on my chest. I ignored the fact that she was hugging me while nude and focused instead on how damp she felt. Thankfully, my light was keeping me dry. I hugged her back, stroking her hair. Hugging her felt really nice.
Hold on a minute. She had blue transparent skin, tendrils, and a squishy wet body. She was a slime girl! Hold on another minute. Now that I took a closer look at her, her face and body look very familiar to me. very familiar. Where had I seen her before? I sifted through my memories to find the answer, and when I refocused on her tendrils of hair, I finally realized where I recognized her form from.
"Suu!" I pulled back from the hug and stared at her clearly. No way.
This had to be a coincidence. It had to be. I tried to think of an explanation. Anything to make sense of this, but the more I looked at her, the harder it was to deny it. This slime girl looked exactly like Suu from Monmusu. "I…I…" I couldn't find the words. Why the hell was a Monmusu character in the Monster Girl Quest world? "What the fuck!"
Seeing my disturbed expression, the slime girl reached up and touched my cheek, looking worried, almost as if asking what was wrong. Taking a deep breath, I forced myself to calm down and gave her a forced smile. "It's nothing. I'll be back, okay?" I told her, and she looked at me silently as if unsure I was telling the truth, but she nodded and gave me one more hug.
I'd be lying if it didn't make me feel a tiny bit better about my situation, but I needed to go. Parting, I said, "I'll see you later." and turned to leave as she waved me goodbye.
I looked down from where I was standing. I saw the area where I trained my abilities. I was pretty far up. Did she really bring me all the way here when I passed out? Shaking my head, I took a deep breath and tried to settle my thoughts. I had a lot of questions. Too many. But I wasn't going to deal with all of that right now. I could freak out later.
The waterfall was high, at least twenty meters. To the left of me there was a small pass to get down safely, but doing it would take far too much time, and there was no other way to get down without falling into the water, but with my natural strength and my boost from the sun, I wasn't worried. Squatting low, I jumped.
For a second, the world rushed past me. Then I landed on the ground with a thud, knees bending as the dirt shook lightly beneath my feet, but I felt nothing. Not a second later, I ran like a bat out of hell back to the village.
...
I made it back just in time before morning training was set to begin. Everyone was already there waiting, including Kem. Our eyes met, and for a second he looked as if he wanted to say something, only to stop himself. That got a raised eyebrow from me. What I noticed most, though, was that the usual hostility he carried around wasn't there anymore.
Curious, I walked over and gave him a simple nod. "Morning."
Before either of us could say anything, Simon walked up. "You're late, son." He spoke with his arms crossed.
I scratched the back of my head and smiled sheepishly. "I'm sorry, Simon. I overslept." I apologized.
"It's ok. All the extra training must have gotten to you. Make sure not to push myself too far and to get proper rest." He advised.
I told him I would, then grabbed a blunt steel sword. "So, when do we start?" I asked, eager to fight.
Everyone, including Simon, gave a laugh. He shook his head as he took his weapon. "How about now?"
We took our places, and everyone gave us space. The person acting as ref was waiting for us to be ready as the rest of the students cheered us on in the background.
I rolled my shoulders and stepped forward, gripping my own blunt sword. It felt strange to hold a sword like this given my current level of strength. I'd have to hold back quite a bit if I wanted to actually learn and grow as a swordsman. I'm starting to really see why Escanor hated Sunshine in his early days before meeting his team. It got in the way of his life.
"You seem distracted." Simon voiced.
"Sorry, I'm just thinking. There's a lot on my mind right now." I replied, getting a raised eyebrow from the soldier.
"What kind of things? If you need my help, Luka, all you need to do is ask." He told me.
"Thanks, Simon, but I think I'll be fine. Now come on, we have a fight to get to, and I'm not getting any younger." I smirked cheekily.
Simon shook his head. "Alright then. Same rules. First clean hit decides the round. No aiming for the head unless controlled. No throat strikes. No breaking bones."
"Wow. You say that like I'm violent." I retorted.
"Son, you shattered seven wooden swords this week." He deadpanned.
"Yeah, whatever." I blew a raspberry. "Let's just fight."
Simon laughed once, then his expression sharpened. The ref gave the signal, and we began our first spar of the day. Simon started first the moment his foot shifted, and I rushed in a moment later. Despite him being first, I was faster, and I closed the distance with a low step and went to slash his ribs.
My teacher proved why experience matters and didn't retreat. He angled his blade and redirected mine instead of blocking head-on. That was a smart move. If he took my strength directly, he'd lose ground.
I let my sword slide off his guard and spun into a backhand swing at his side. Simon stepped inside the arc before it built momentum and bumped my shoulder with his own. "Tch." The hit disrupted me just enough for him to bring his sword toward my chest. I twisted away, the blunt edge cutting through the air where my ribs had been, then planted my back foot and countered with a horizontal cut. Simon ducked under it. Of course he did.
He came up with a rising strike, and I barely got my sword down in time. Steel rang against steel. The vibration traveled up my arm, but I held firm and pushed. Simon slid back half a step, boots dragging through the dirt.
"You're really full of surprises, Luka. I'm barely keeping up with you." He struggled against me, exhaling hard to avoid pushing back more.
"I have a good teacher." I replied.
This time I didn't give him space. I went for his right shoulder, then the left hip, the ribs, and finally the wrist. Simon blocked the first two, shifted away from the third, and slapped aside the fourth with a neat twist of his wrist. His defense was clean. Every movement was small, efficient, and made me feel like I was fighting someone who already knew where my sword would be.
'No shit. He did teach Luka everything he knew.' I scoffed. 'But I'm not Luka.'
Instead of another slash, I switched things up and fought like Siris would. I kicked dust toward his feet. Simon's eyebrow twitched. "That's dirty." It didn't blind him, but it made him adjust his footing.
But that's what I was waiting for. I lunged, bringing my sword down in a heavy overhead strike.
*CLANG!*
His knees bent from the impact, but he didn't fold. For a second, we were locked blade to blade. Now I could have won by powering through, and I could have. My strength made it very easy to do so, but that's not how I would learn. Also, I didn't want to end the fight too quickly. I was having too much fun.
I grinned. "You sure you're not getting old?" I remarked, slowly adding more pressure.
"I'm in my twenties, you brat!" Simon's smile turned dangerous.
He suddenly released pressure and stepped aside. Since I'd been pushing forward, my balance tipped for half a second, and he took advantage of that. His sword came around toward my stomach.
"Woh!" I pulled back hard. The blunt edge still grazed my tunic.
"So close." He clicked his tongue.
I reset my stance. Finding the right balance between my strength and skill was difficult without a proper opponent, but Simon was the best I would get. I needed to try something else.
Simon noticed immediately. His eyes narrowed slightly, approving but cautious. 'Good.' I stepped in again, testing him with a simple cut. He blocked, but I followed with another.
With every exchange I analyzed his movements and tension he released. My mind and his were not the same. My analytical and processing speeds had reached a higher level. Like a chess player, I was looking at the board in a completely different light. Each exchange provided me information. 'His guard favored his right side. His left foot moves first when he retreats.'
When he countered, his shoulder dipped a split second before his sword moved. 'Right on the money.' My chest raced excitedly as I went into action.
My sword snapped toward his wrist. He twisted away, but I expected that. Instead of chasing his wrist, I changed the angle mid-swing and aimed for his ribs. Simon was late to the punch.
*TAP.*
My blade touched his side. The students erupted. "Luka got him!"
"It was amazing!" One pointed at me.
"How'd he do that!?" Another said, and this continued.
Kem looked on quietly, speechless but even he couldn't deny how amazingly I did. I pulled the sword back and stared at the spot I'd landed the hit. Simon looked down, then back at me. He smiled and gave an approving nod. "Well done. That was a great strategy. There was a lot of thought into it."
"Thanks, but I'm not done there." I swung the sword in the air. "But I still got more tricks up my sleeve."
The students kept talking excitedly until Simon raised a hand and quieted them. Then he pointed his sword at me again. "Is that right." He went into his stance. "Show me."
I did the same. "Gladly. Let's dance."
...
