"All five of you come at me together. I'm too weak!"
Steve didn't even bother using his shield—he didn't need to. The recovery power granted by the serum had grown even stronger. If it was this powerful for him, it would be the same for the other super soldiers.
Several of them were clearly unstable, easily irritated, violent, and destructive.
Provoked by Steve's taunt, they rushed forward furiously.
There was no coordination, but their combined attacks still came fast—punches, whip kicks, judo throws, heavy strikes.
Each blow carried over two hundred kilograms of force.
Steve shifted smoothly, using the principles of Tai Chi to deflect their attacks and counter with precision.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Each counter sent a Winter Soldier flying.
Before they could get up, Steve was already on them again.
Joseph, furious, took the opportunity to charge in while Steve was occupied, throwing punches with over a ton of force behind each one.

This time, Steve used Qigong to catch Joseph's fist firmly. Ever since being hit by an anti-materiel sniper rifle, Steve had realized one thing—Qigong must never be neglected.
Even though his body could recover from almost anything, not using Qigong would be a waste of power.
Joseph was surprised for only a second before he swung his leg up for a kick.
Steve was faster—he kicked Joseph's calf first, breaking his balance, then drove a flying knee into his stomach, twisted his wrist, and threw him hard onto the floor.
The Qigong-powered shoulder throw hit with such force that Joseph couldn't get up. If Steve hadn't held back, the man would've been dead.
Two minutes later, not a single Winter Soldier could stand.
The only female Winter Soldier was locked in a grappling hold. She couldn't break free and didn't dare to struggle—every movement made her feel like her arm was about to snap. Her rage slowly faded into silence.
"Anyone who disagrees, stand up and fight me again!"
Steve smiled calmly, his Qi flowing steadily through his body. After that last assassination attempt, he had developed the habit of maintaining his Qi circulation constantly.
"I surrender."
"I'm convinced."
"You're strong. I admit defeat."
They were all super soldiers and Hydra agents—they understood the difference in power between them.

One week later, at Tony Stark's beach villa.
Since publicly announcing that he was Iron Man, Tony had buried himself in his lab, perfecting the suit.
Contrary to market expectations, Stark Industries' stock soared to the daily limit.
At Tony's instruction, Pepper Potts systematically removed the other shareholders from the board, consolidating his control.
After taking full power, Tony shut down the arms division and shifted focus to energy and investment ventures.
That evening, Tony left his lab to get some dinner.
As he entered the living room, he froze—someone was standing by the floor-to-ceiling window.
"Who are you?"
A tall figure stepped from the shadows.
"Gamma ray accidents, radioactive bug bites, mutants, vampire outbreaks, Captain America waking up from the ice—like I didn't have enough to deal with!" the man said, his voice deep and deliberate.
"Now I've got to worry about a spoiled brat who doesn't play well with others and wants to keep all his toys to himself!"
Tony frowned, holding up a small shock device. "Who are you supposed to be?"
The man took another step forward. "Nick Fury. Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. I'm here to talk to you about the Avengers Initiative. Sit down—we need to talk."
"And if I don't?" Tony raised an eyebrow. So, it was S.H.I.E.L.D.
"Then you'll face a lot of unnecessary trouble. Believe me, Stark, if we work together, you'll see a much bigger world."
Nick Fury—Level 10 S.H.I.E.L.D. agent, a man who had seen aliens and lived through the Captain Marvel incident—knew when to step in personally. Recruiting Iron Man was one of those times.
Tony scoffed. "Trouble? I'd like to see it."
He wasn't one to be intimidated.
"But tell me something—gamma ray accidents, that's Dr. Bruce Banner and the Hulk. I know Steve Rogers. Vampires—that's the guy in the black coat and sunglasses, right? But what's this about radioactive bug bites and mutants?"
He looked genuinely intrigued.
"You don't need to worry about that," Fury said coolly. "Join the Avengers, and you'll learn what you need to know."
Fury wasn't about to reveal everything. Dealing with people who had powers like Stark's required other powered individuals—ordinary agents would just get in the way.
Tony leaned back with a smirk. "Tch. Not interested. We can talk later."
He was curious, but not enough to play along. For now, he'd rather work on a new suit.
Fury watched him and almost smiled. He knew he had Tony hooked—curiosity was a powerful leash.
"S.H.I.E.L.D. also has your father's research notes—and the Cosmic Cube. It could enhance your armor exponentially.
A cosmic war is coming, Stark. The world needs you."
At the mention of his father, Tony paused. Howard Stark—the man he admired, regretted, and missed the most.
"Fine. I'll give it a try. But if I'm not satisfied, I'm out."
He wanted to see what kind of world Fury was hinting at—and how much S.H.I.E.L.D. actually knew.
"No problem," Fury said. "But tell me something—have you seen Steve Rogers? He's been off the radar for a week."
In addition to recruiting Iron Man, Fury was also trying to locate Captain America. The mission logs were sealed—even the director had no clearance to view them. That was a red flag.
"I don't know. Haven't seen him," Tony replied.
He called out, "Jarvis, show me the news."
The holographic projection appeared—headlines filled the air.
Breaking News:
Captain America faces Senate prosecution. Fifty casualties linked to unauthorized operation. Accused of abusing power and violating the Sokovia Accords. Ordered to attend a hearing for questioning.
