I heard Master yell at me to head back. I get it.
The vampires are all charging at me, even the ones that hid themselves in the forest.
But I'm not that weak!
"Yori! You fool!", Master Dell exclaims. Why is this child always trying to shorten my life with these antics!
I have to make sure they don't get to the villager who thought now of all nights was fit for a nightly stroll!
I could smell eleven of them before there's still more of them.
Before I could finish my thought, one of them suddenly lunges for my left leg.
I rotate my left leg and hit the vampire with my right one crushing its ribcage. Another vampire latches himself on my back. I can feel his claws dig into my skin.
"Argghhh!!". These vampires think they can pull a fast one on me.
Master Dell shoots down another vampire, seven left. I grab the one on my back by the arm and yank him off me forcing me to growl in pain.
I slam his face into the ground.
The ones left think this is their opening. One rushes for my legs again whilst another aims for my right rib-side.
Around the same time, Master Dell maims another one of them making it shriek and squirm on the ground from the pain turning it to ash.
I twist my body and hit the vampire going for my leg at full force with my knee shattering his lower jaw.
Twisting my body the way I did gives me enough speed and power to react to the vampire going for my ribs.
I drive my elbow into its throat making it cough out a puddle of blood. I jump back to make sure I can see the remaining vampires.
My heart starts to race even faster.
The two vampires that attacked me earlier were trying to distract me.
But now I can smell and hear everything clearly!
The villager hasn't gotten to the underground bunkers yet! There're only two vampires in front of me but I can barely smell a third whose almost reached the houses.
I have to get there before he reaches the villager.
I wipe the blood from arms then get down on all fours; my feet and arms shoot out claws.
Looks like some of the vampires I beat up are almost completely healed.
I sprint towards the villager's scent; I can barely smell the vampire.
He's skilled. He could even be their leader.
The two vampires who were facing me earlier are chasing after me and the ones almost healed are following behind them but I'm sure Master Dell can handle this much so I pick up my speed and leave them in the dust.
What is this smell!!
How did I not smell this!
Something is here. Now I'm sure of it!
The vampire closest to the villager is this groups leader!
Another vampire is shot through the skull by Master Dell. I stand beside a house as the villager runs to the bunker entrance in his home.
He looks drunk. But there's still something off about him. How hasn't he been caught yet?
"I feel your inhumane presence dog, so show yourself!", demands a cold, irritated voice.
What's with his voice? I can feel the chills on my spine screaming at me to turn. Forget about not letting him reach the villager, something like him shouldn't even be here! What should I do!
The vampire leaps from the front of the house to beside the house locking eyes with Yori, his hands stretched out with long claws and a mysterious mineral coated on their tips.
I try to weave through his attack and jump out into the clearing. He's more than just fast.
But so am I.
The leader of the vampire group follows me into walk into the clearing.
"I see that your master is a good marksman", The vampire praises at the sight of his group turning to ash before his eyes.
"I knew something was amiss with this group but who could have thought we'd be dealing with a seasoned vampire". Master Dell stretches out his leg and lets his body-along with his staff-fall from the top of the silver tower. His feet greet the ground sending out a quake of honed strength. "I have no room for a demon's praise, now make yourself scarce of this place".
The dust cloud of Master Dell's silhouette settles. What the hell was that! I knew Master was different but not that-
Noticing Yori's confusion, the vampire lunges at him but only manages to graze his arm.
"Silver tipped claws…. Who sent you here?", Master Dell probs.
The on my arm immediately heals. Dammit! This is what I was afraid of!
"The rumors are true! Even a nick of silver leaves most dogs licking their wounds till sunrise but you look as alive as I'm dead". He points his index silver tipped claw at Yori, "No wonder none of my men had bite marks before they turned to ash. You won't turn even if your life depended on it, well that's because"-
Master Dell bolts towards the vampire.
My eyes. They couldn't even notice what happened.
All I'm seeing now is the vampire groups leader impaled by Master's wooden staff through the heart!
How strong is Master?
