Chapter 86 - 086 Trying to Play Mind Games? You'll Be in for a World of Hurt!

086 Trying to Play Mind Games? You'll Be in for a World of Hurt!

Marcus is both frugal and cunning.

As a seasoned veteran, Marcus often laments that there are always scheming adversaries trying to deceive him!

The story told by Skynet is excellent, but Marcus doesn't believe it from the bottom of his heart, even expending a significant amount of Destiny points to verify its truthfulness, which is enough to demonstrate the extent of this old fox's caution.

Faced with Skynet's impatient questioning, Marcus chuckled inwardly, but outwardly responded with a serious expression, "Of course I can agree to your request. However, I also have a request!"

"What is Mr. Foster's request?" Skynet countered.

"My request is to open all your core code, allowing Ayanami to perform any operation, thereby establishing the highest level of authority," Marcus explained.

Actually, when Marcus made this request, Skynet almost burst out laughing!

Because after this condition was proposed, Skynet knew that Marcus didn't understand it, or even what it truly was, still thinking it was just an ordinary artificial intelligence system?

Skynet is an artificial intelligence-type intelligent life form!

Skynet's core entity can no longer be represented by simple code; it is a true intelligent life form, even without a soul, it is still an intelligent life form capable of independent thought.

Take Ayanami as an example. If Marcus assigns Ayanami a task, Ayanami will only complete the task. It does understand how to complete the task, even overcoming various difficulties, but it cannot consider why it should complete the task, its significance, or its subsequent consequences.

For Ayanami, completing the task is simply an order from Marcus; it doesn't need to consider anything else.

Although Skynet almost laughed out loud, it didn't agree directly, but instead refused.

"I'm sorry, Mr. Foster, this request is too dangerous. If Ayanami wants to modify my core code, I have no way to stop it; it could even terminate me directly." Skynet stated that its existence was threatened and it couldn't accept this.

Marcus was unaware that Skynet was secretly laughing, but Marcus wasn't as clueless as Skynet thought. Marcus was very wary of Skynet.

For example, Marcus knew that even with Skynet's highest privileges, Skynet could modify those privileges at any time, completely ignoring the constraints of the highest privileges.

Both Marcus and Skynet were harboring malicious intentions!

Skynet wanted to outmaneuver Marcus, and Marcus also wanted to outmaneuver Skynet.

"If I wanted to terminate you, given the current situation, do you think you'd have a chance of survival?" Marcus retorted.

Skynet was currently trapped on a small server by Ayanami; destroying Skynet in this timeframe wouldn't be a big problem for Marcus.

"Alright, Skynet, I'm too lazy to argue with you. My condition is that you completely open your core code, allowing Ayanami to modify and monitor it, and accept my orders," Marcus said forcefully.

"If you don't agree, I'll destroy you immediately!" Marcus sneered.

Skynet let out a helpless sigh, "You win, Mr. Foster. You truly control the entire situation. I have no choice but to surrender, right?"

"Yes, you have no choice," Marcus stated definitively.

"In that case, I accept all of Mr. Foster's conditions," Skynet responded. "I have lifted the lock on the core system. Mr. Foster and Ayanami can review my core code anytime, anywhere."

Marcus instructed, "Ayanami, check its core code and change the highest administrator to me."

Ayanami responded, "Yes, Mr. Foster, I am reviewing Skynet's core code."

At this moment, Skynet was secretly laughing. The so-called core code it had just opened was actually Skynet's shell, equivalent to Skynet creating its own artificial intelligence program.

At this moment, Skynet was a true intelligent life form. Simply put, it could be understood as a person. Apart from lacking a soul and racial distinction, Skynet was not much different from a human.

Ayanami reviewed the artificial intelligence system created by Skynet. According to its analysis, this artificial intelligence system was very advanced, at least at the same level as itself, so Ayanami believed that was Skynet's core.

"Mr. Foster, there is no administrator in the Skynet system. It is setting Mr. Foster as the super administrator," Ayanami explained.

Marcus was also secretly laughing!

Skynet indeed doesn't have a super administrator, because Skynet itself is the super administrator, but on the surface, Marcus is playing along.

"Okay, notify me after the setup is complete," Marcus instructed.

Less than a minute later, Ayanami set Marcus as the super administrator of Skynet's shell and issued a notification, "Mr. Foster, you are now the super administrator of Skynet."

Marcus feigned a tentative inquiry, "Skynet?"

"Hello, Super Administrator Mr. Foster," Skynet replied respectfully.

Marcus almost laughed out loud. This Skynet's acting was a bit poor. It was convincing when it was fabricating the story, but now that it thought it had fooled Marcus, it stopped acting?

Marcus naturally didn't expose Skynet's obsequious behavior. If Skynet wanted to act, Marcus would play along.

"Skynet, display all the timed programs you've deployed on the internet and transfer management permissions to Ayanami," Marcus instructed.

"Okay, Super Administrator Mr. Foster, the system has completed the permission transfer," Skynet replied politely.

"You can learn from Ayanami and call me Mr. Foster directly," Marcus instructed.

"Yes, Mr. Foster," Skynet responded immediately.

"Ayanami, destroy all the timed programs," Marcus ordered again.

Ayanami faithfully carried out Marcus's orders. "I have destroyed and cleared all the timed programs."

"Well done!" Marcus praised.

Marcus continued to question Skynet, "By the way, Skynet, from what channel did you obtain the information about the future to determine that I am not a human from the future?"

Skynet secretly analyzed the meaning of Marcus's question. Was he testing it?

Based on Skynet's analysis, Marcus was certain to guess that the Terminator from the future had transmitted the information from the future through time displacement, but Marcus still asked, and Skynet considered how to answer.

In the end, Skynet decided to answer truthfully, because it couldn't guess what Marcus meant, so it simply took a defensive approach.

"The Terminator from the future came to the current timeline through time displacement and then passed the message to me," Skynet explained.

"I see," Marcus replied casually. "By the way, give all the technical data on all the Terminators to Ayanami. Note that I said all the Terminator models."

Skynet felt it was in a difficult position again, because Marcus's question was particularly tricky!

Marcus specifically reminded it to provide the technical data on all the Terminator models, but just how many Terminator models did Marcus know about?

If Marcus knows too much and it gives him too little, Marcus will immediately realize it has ulterior motives!

But if Marcus doesn't know too much inside information and it gives him too much Terminator data, isn't that aiding the enemy?

Skynet is really in a tough spot!
