Chapter 383 - Chapter 386 Can’t Sleep

Chapter 386 Can't Sleep

Since Eriri was so insistent, Kaede didn't mind. If she wanted to sleep separately, then so be it. He wondered who would be unable to sleep tonight.

Crawling under the covers, since he wasn't working today and it was only 10 o'clock, still a bit early, both of them snuggled under the covers and started playing on their NS.

Kaede was playing Skyrim on his NS, while Eriri was playing Kirby. Eriri found Skyrim a bit hard to get into, especially this NS version without mods, so she went to play something else.

They chatted while playing, and by past 11, it was time to rest.

Putting the NS away to charge, Kaede said to Eriri, who was already lying down, "I'm turning off the light!"

"Okay, good night, Kaede-kun."

"Good night, Eriri."

Turning off the light, Kaede lay down, pulled up the covers, and immediately closed his eyes. He had to get up early tomorrow to make breakfast, so he couldn't stay up late anymore.

Although he said that a cold wouldn't likely spread to him, Eriri insisted, so there would naturally be no "adult activities" tonight.

After closing his eyes, Kaede could fall asleep very quickly if he wanted to.

After more than half an hour, Kaede was already in dreamland. On the other side, Eriri, wrapped in her futon, turned over towards Kaede.

Although the room was pitch dark and she was nearsighted, Eriri could still vaguely make out that Kaede seemed to be asleep, his breathing very steady.

Puffing out her cheeks, Eriri whispered, "What? He really fell asleep..."

Originally, Eriri thought, it's just a cold, sleeping separately for a bit? What's the big deal. But who would have thought that even after half an hour, she was still wide awake. No matter if she tried to think of nothing, or count sheep in her mind, she still couldn't fall asleep.

She turned over, and then turned over again.

She was getting more and more awake... And looking at Kaede, who was still sound asleep next to her, Eriri became irritated: "Hmph, it's all Kaede-kun's fault, otherwise I definitely wouldn't be unable to sleep."

How long had it been? Just a few days after moving into this house, Eriri moved from her own room to Kaede's room to live. Her original room had basically become a guest room.

Compared to before, Eriri was now more accustomed to falling asleep in Kaede's arms. Sleeping alone tonight, she hadn't thought about it at first, but now she realized it was truly unaccustomed.

She squirmed in her futon, then reached out and gently pushed Kaede next to her: "Kaede-kun? Kaede-kun?"

No response, was he really asleep?

Eriri frowned, then slowly moved her body, from her futon to Kaede's futon.

Smelling the familiar scent so close, Eriri's face was slightly flushed, and she chuckled as she snuggled into Kaede's embrace, holding him.

If Eriri's initial murmurs and small movements hadn't woken Kaede, then this current action made it hard for him not to wake up.

Without even opening his eyes, Kaede knew what Eriri had done. Holding Eriri's fragrant and soft body, he chuckled, "How come I remember someone saying we should sleep separately before bed?"

"Urusai!"

Lightly bumping Kaede's chin with her head, Eriri said, "I never said that!"

"Hmm? Really?"

He turned his body slightly, letting Eriri rest her head on his arm, holding her face to face. Kaede lowered his head and kissed Eriri's forehead: "Alright, hurry up and sleep. You should be able to sleep like this, right?"

Eriri hummed in agreement, nodded, and tightened her embrace a bit more: "Next time, let's not sleep in separate beds, I'm not used to it..."

"To be honest, I'm not very used to it either."

"You're lying! You fell asleep so quickly!"

"If I say I was faking it, would you believe me?"

"Do you think I would believe you?" She bumped Kaede again, then took a deep breath, "No more talking, I'll let you off the hook for now. Time to sleep, time to sleep. Ah! Don't put your hand in and move it around!"

"I'm not moving it around, it's just on your back."

Kaede wouldn't listen to Eriri. He stroked Eriri's smooth back, closed his eyes contentedly.

"Alright, good night for real this time, Eriri."

"Ugh... Good night, Kaede-kun."

Then, they slept soundly until morning.

Unusually, Eriri woke up earlier than Kaede today. As soon as she woke up, she found herself lying securely in Kaede's arms, just as she had fallen asleep last night.

This made Eriri wonder how she had even caught a cold yesterday.

After thinking for a moment, Eriri nodded sagely, "Indeed, it's still because Kaede-kun didn't hold me properly, otherwise I definitely wouldn't have gone outside the covers..."

"You're kidding, you're blaming me for something like that?"

At this moment, Kaede also woke up, opened his eyes, and looked at Eriri helplessly, saying, "I can't possibly hold you so steadily every day, you know. I even think you were dreaming and moving around yourself."

"Lalala~~~"

Sticking out her tongue at Kaede, Eriri checked the time. It was still early, only six o'clock, so she pushed Kaede to lie down properly, and then she lay on top of him.

"It's still early, let's sleep a little longer."

"..." Kaede looked at Eriri with a strange expression and said, "Well, you must have noticed, right?"

"So what?" Eriri shifted her body to avoid pressing down on him, "I'm a cold patient now, you need to take care of a sick person's body, understand?"

...Then who will take care of my young man's body?

But it wasn't anything unbearable. Kaede smiled bitterly, shook his head, and after a yawn, also prepared to sleep a little longer until the alarm clock rang.

More than an hour later, Eriri, who had woken up, sat at the dining table. After seeing Kaede serve her breakfast and giving him a brilliant smile, she took a sip of coffee and began to eat her breakfast.

While eating, Eriri asked, "Kaede-kun, can I suggest what I want for dinner tonight?"

"Hmm?" Kaede sat down with his own breakfast and said curiously, "Your cold isn't gone yet, you're not already thinking of eating all sorts of strange things, are you?"

"No way, it's not fried or spicy!" Eriri shook her head, her twin tails swaying with her, "I want chicken soup! Last night I had fish soup, today I want a change!"

"Chicken soup, that's fine."

As long as it wasn't something strange, Kaede generally granted Eriri's requests.

However, for chicken soup, he would have to come back a bit earlier.
