It had been two whole weeks since Willow disappeared from the pack. Every day, Kaila sat by the front door, hoping her best friend would walk through it at any moment. Lucien had told her many times that Willow was not coming back, but Kaila still held on to hope.
Lucien's coronation was fast approaching, and his father, Warrick, lay on his deathbed. He could barely speak or recognize anyone anymore. Kaila felt completely alone. Though her mate visited often, she could not go to him yet. There was too much trouble in her own pack.
"Kaila, hurry up!" Cyrus called as she stepped into Kaila's room. "We're going to be late for training. Lucien is already waiting."
Kaila stood up quietly and followed Cyrus out. Cyrus has tried to replace Willow, but they just couldn't be friends. Not after the lie she said. Kaila has tried almost everything to get her kicked from their pack, but nothing has worked.
