I let out a jaw-cracking yawn as I looked over the stacks of parchment spread across my desk. "Ahem... well, that covers exactly one-third of the contract conditions."
Kael looked at the small pile we had actually finished and let out a soft, almost imperceptible grunt. "After spending nearly half the night..."
"Hmm... you really do hate paperwork, don't you?" I teased, leaning back and stretching my stiff back. "But seriously, Kael, when do you actually sleep? I swear, I've never seen you close your eyes!"
"I was trained to operate on minimal sleep for days at a time while maintaining peak efficiency," he replied, his voice as steady as ever. "I rarely feel the need for it."
"It's cool that you're always at your peak, but tell me—honestly—when was the last time you actually slept? You aren't on a battlefield right now, you know. There's no reason to push yourself this hard."
