I must have been out for a while because when I finally sit up, the sun is hitting my face so hard I feel like I'm being slow-cooked.
"Huh, huh, huh!! What is it so hot up here for?!" I squint, trying to shield my eyes. "Rhaegor, can't you just make this bubble give me some shadow?"
"Hm? You woke up?" he rumbles, sounding entirely too relaxed for someone whose passenger is melting. "Sure, I can do that!"
"Then where is the gentlemanly behavior? Or are u planning to kill me with heat!" I snap, aggressively digging into my backpack. I pull out my leather water bag, yank the wooden cap off, and gulp the water down in one go.
"My bad," he says. Suddenly, the top of the bubble shifts from transparent to a solid, milky white, casting a blissful shadow over me.
I empty the bottle and shove it back into my bag. "Seriously, that's why nobody knows romance! No consideration!" I huff, unwrapping the muffler from my neck since it's basically a heater now and stuffing it in the bag too.
