"Questions? Like what?" Thalassara asks, her deep voice echoing smoothly in my mind. Despite the fact that she is taking us deeper and deeper into the sea, the heavy water doesn't crush me at all. It feels as light as a summer breeze, thanks to that salty candy magic.
"Like... is it true that mermaids sing melodious songs to seduce sailors and feed them to sea monsters?!" I lean forward, gripping her mane as I look around for any flashing tails.
She chuckles, the sound causing the surrounding water to ripple gently. "Well, it is true... they do sing songs that seduce. But it is not actually sailors in general. They target those who try to trespass into their territory deep in the ocean, and sometimes those pirates who bother honest traders."
"Wait! That means they really do feed them to sea monsters!"
She laughs out loud this time, a beautiful, bubbling sound. "Well, do you know who that monster is?"
I shake my head quickly. "No..."
"They bring those people to me!"
