Chapter 23 - Femboy, and body snatcher

[1 hour before...]

In a dimly lit room, five Japanese-themed doors stood tall, defying gravity. Each door represented a Higher-up, their faces obscured behind it.

The doors were spaced and aligned in a circle. The centre of the circle was lit with a beam of light. Standing inside the circle was Principal Gakuganji, who looked around with a serious expression.

The atmosphere was suffocating, not from pressure or strength, but from a disgusting, pretentious kind of pressure. Each door gave off a rich, spoiled and shrewd aura.

Like they stood above everyone else in the world. It gave a feeling of looking down on the one standing in the circle, and Gakuganji could feel it perfectly.

Suddenly, the voice of a Higher-up echoed out, speaking to Gakuganji directly.

"Principal Gakuganji, we order Utahime Iori, the Semi-grade 1 sorceress, to make her way to the abandoned prison facility on the outskirts of Tokyo, and exorcise the Grade 1 cursed spirit hiding there."

Gakuganji froze at the words, shock written all over her face as he looked up like a startled swan. Utahime is a teacher at his school, so he knows her strength, and fighting a Grade 1 cursed spirit is suicide for someone like Utahime.

"I am afraid she can't complete this mission alone, so I'll add Mei Mei to the list as well; those two working together will definitely be able to-"

"This is a secret mission, suited only for Utahime Iori. She needs to do this mission by herself, and no word of this is to spread. Understood?"

Gakuganji was interrupted by a serious voice, which hid a sense of playfulness underneath, directed at Gakuganji. The old foggy gritted his teeth, anger in his eyes, before quickly calming down.

"But sending Utahime on this mission alone is practically... Suicide," Gakuganji spat out with hidden anger, his hand tightening around his cane with enough force to cause splinters to fly off the strong, polished cane.

"And? The mortality rates for sorcerers are not that high for no reason. If she dies, she dies in the line of duty, completing her role as a sorcerer of Kyoto Jujutsu High in the process."

The same Higher-up spoke up again, holding back a chuckle as he fanned the air towards him lazily. Hi slips curled up behind the door as he watched Gakuganji through it.

"... I shall do as you say." Not able to refute those words, Gakuganji bowed slightly before making his way out of the room. An assassin trained for the higher-ups was already waiting for him, opening the door for Gakuganji.

Gakuganji glanced at the assassin, noting that he felt a high threat from the man. This assassin was at least a semi-grade 1 sorcerer if not higher, trained to protect the Higher-ups, and he was likely not the only one.

Back behind the door, the Higher-up who was speaking the whole time grinned, leaning back in his chair comfortably for a few seconds before standing up.

"Well, I'll be going now. You four can do the paperwork or whatever," The Higher-up spoke loudly before exiting the Buddhist temple, where the headquarters for the Jujutsu Society was located.

After a few minutes of leisure walking, the Higher-up reached a sufficient distance from the temple. His body suddenly shot into the air, flying away with bursts of cursed energy shooting out from his foot in small bursts.

Swoosh!

The Higher-up flew a couple of kilometres, coming to a distant mountain surrounded by lush forest trees. Coming to a halt at the base of the mountain, the Higher-up knocked a few irms, and the ground split like a door, revealing a hall leading to the interior, lit up by modern lights installed into the walls.

The man walked inside, the door automatically closing behind him. The hall was a dozen meters long, leading into a massive room where a coffin was placed on an altar, with a frozen body encased in ice, halting the ageing process of the body lying inside comfortably.

Next to the coffin stood a woman with white, shoulder-length hair adorned with a red mark circling around it. She wore white robes, and her presence radiated a coldness that caused the ground beneath her to freeze into ice.

"Uraume, thanks for taking care of that body. I'll have to trouble you to freeze this one as well, it's quite useful~," Kenjaku grinned, reaching up and pulling a sewing thread from his forehead. The top of his head slid off, revealing a brain with a mouth and sharp teeth at the front.

"Did you manage to at least find out how many fingers of Master Sukuna those idiots have right now?" Uraume shrugged as she placed a palm on the ice-encased body in the coffin. With a dull hum, the ice on the body was absorbed into her palm, unfreezing it.

"They have six of Sukuna's fingers in possession right now," Kenjaku replied while reaching up and extracting the brain from his skull. With a disgusting squelch and the stench of a corpse, strings of nerves connected to the brain snapped off.

The brain jumped into the coffin before fitting into the already open head of Kaori Itadori. The nerves in the empty skull moved by themselves, connecting to the brain.

Feeling the body come back into his control, kenjaku placed the top of her head back on in its proper place before sewing the cut on her forehead close with his cursed technique.

Uraume, on the other hand, froze the body of the Higher-up, halting its rotting process. Kenjaku might need it in the future, and it could also be useful to retake her master's fingers.

Swoosh!

Kaori's body blurred before it vanished, appearing next to the coffin, standing tall. Kenjaku reached down, yawning as she felt her joints pop. relief washing over her.

"The muscles are frostbitten... Looks like it needs to heal. Uraume, go a bit softer in the future," Kenjaku felt some parts of her body feeling numb, so she pumped her body full of reverse cursed energy, healing those parts instantly.

"Tch! Do it yourself, you bastard, I am not your slave," Uraume quipped back. Kenjaku primarily ignored Uraume, knowing that she wouldn't listen to her words no matter what.

"Is the cursed spirit ready?" Kenjaku asks while rolling her shoulders with a sigh of comfort. Uraume nodded, walking past him towards a deeper part of the cave, where her room resides.

"Yeah, it's placed as you asked," Uraume's voice echoed from the end of the room, with the sound of the door closing after her. Kenjaku grinned, taking a look at the ice-encased body in front of him.

She lifted it before placing it in the coffin, storing it for later use.
