"This Armaldo has awakened a Dragon-type bloodline; that's why its power and size are so abnormal," Feng Che observed.
The two-meter-thick stone wall, reinforced with steel, had been sliced through like tofu. Feng Che noticed a faint, golden draconic aura flickering in the Armaldo's eyes. Behind the wall, researchers in white lab coats scrambled with stun batons, but the beast had entered a state of Outrage.
"The researchers must have hurt it with those stun batons during the revival process," Feng Che said to Lorelei, pointing out the burn marks on the Pokémon's shell. "It's terrified and lashing out."
"Feng Che, handle the Armaldo," Dora said, standing up and brushing herself off. "Under League Law, if a fossil Pokémon escapes due to human error and is subdued by a trainer, that trainer has the right to capture it. It no longer trusts the staff here—it needs a proper master."
"Lorelei, Bruno, please handle the Aerodactyls," Dora added.
Sabrina released a Mr. Mime, which immediately set up Light Screens to protect the panicking researchers. When Misty tried to help, Sabrina stopped her. "Let the experts handle this, Misty. We don't want the other regional delegations to think Kanto is incompetent."
The Armaldo swung its claws, shredding the researchers' stun batons. It prepared another Hyper Beam, but Zeraora struck first, hitting the beast with a lightning-fast jab to the jaw.
BOOM! The Hyper Beam detonated inside the Armaldo's mouth, causing significant internal damage.
"Its power is great, but its movements are stiff—likely a side effect of the cloning process," Feng Che noted. But a Dragon-type Armaldo? That's an incredible tank. He mused that if he ever became an Elite Four member, he might just switch his specialty to Dragon-types; he certainly had enough of them.
The Armaldo was exhausted. Steam rose from its armor as it panted.
"Zeraora, finish it. Plasma Fists!"
A barrage of golden fist-shadows slammed into the Armaldo, driving it back against the ruined wall. The beast finally collapsed, unconscious.
"Wait! Don't capture it!" a researcher shouted, running toward them. It was Dr. Darby, the head of the fossil project, who Sabrina had previously teleported away for being a nuisance.
Feng Che ignored him and tossed a Poké Ball. Click.
"Hey! You can't do that!" Dr. Darby cried, reaching for the ball. "That's an invaluable Dragon-attribute clone!"
Before his fingers could touch it, the ball vanished—Feng Che had already recalled it with his psychic power.
