Alex's POV
My steps came to a halt. A sharp pain pierced my heart, as if squeezing it so hard it was about to burst. I grabbed the wall and tried to steady myself, but just as I was about to lose my balance, a pair of arms caught me before I fell.
"I've got you!" she said, then helped me sit up properly. "You must have forgotten your medicine," she added once I was seated.
She reached for a small bottle, took out a few pills, and placed them in my hand.
"Take these," she said, handing me a glass of water. I gulped it down, and she smiled as she stroked my head. "Don't forget your medicine again, okay? You'll keep feeling pain if you do that."
I breathed a sigh of relief because the pain had magically vanished. However, there was still a strange flutter left that I couldn't describe in words.
